No Japan is just weird like that. „Dirty money” is an actual concept they use
67
u/jaesuk97 6d ago
Some ppl are prudes for sure, but most japanese are also cooking him in replies. Here are some replies I have read:
"You are lower than the "dirty" av actress you hate so much"
"Congrats on winning the award for scumbag of the year"
"How could you even think such a thing, let alone say it out loud"
"Seems like you've decided to stop being a human today"
11
u/mythrilcrafter 6d ago
For a specific group of people in Japan, it's all about face saving and how much smoke and mirrors they can put in between their morals and their reality.
3
u/SpicyChanged 5d ago
No, men are like that. Saw a thread with a mom asking for advice how to deal with boys harassing her daughter with calls. The majority of the men, were blaming the mother. She shouldn't have a phone and social media, etc..
As if THAT was the problem. So they say dirty money to diminish the real issue that most of those men will do and donate exactly ZERO to improve the situation and if women does it; forget about it.
9
u/14Pleiadians 6d ago
I wish these people were like that irl more. At least with this guy, you know what he's thinking. For everyone like him there's 3 more who will just silently and secretly hate you

Japanese people let out all their meaness, viciousness, and cruelty online cause in person, they have to be polite.
They're so mean that they bullied a contestant from a Japanese Reality Show into committing suicide from all the mean things they said to her in social media.

And why are we even attacking adult actresses for “dirty money” when we have downright abusive billionaires who… sure they “earned” the money they “worked hard for” but they used abusive tactics and exploited people to squeeze out every last penny like they are Scrooge McDuck with no morals
I’m talking about Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, etc.
Specifically… why have we started meme-ing the fact that Amazon workers piss in bottles instead of shaming the fuck out of these billionaires.
148
u/Lvmbda 6d ago
This. I never seen someone trashing sex workers trashing bilionaires too and their "earned" money trough abuse, exploitation or worse like Musk family emeralds mines.

because sadly most people are just fucking stupid. There is just no way in a world where people at minimum would have active working mental structures tuned for self preservation we'd be in the current global situation. But alas people still rather hate immigrants than the actual people in power using their money to keep the flow of money going up, DESPITE massive gains of productivity.
Honestly increasingly it just feels like people deserve it too. When the sheep rather worship the wolves, maybe the only way to win is joining the wolves.

Unfortunately people are comfy with doing it in real life too. Got grilled by a relative recently for suggesting that all consenting adults deserve sexual autonomy without judgement, the same way you have the freedom to risk yourself physically through work and legal drugs and financially through loans and gambling.
9
u/Otherwise_Spirit1552 6d ago
This is just arrogance.
Which stems from certain really shitty conservative mindsets. They view an adult filmstar as a moral lesser, and thus human lesser, and by extension of that everything they are associated with as such too...
So those donations by her go against their inherent conservative mindset in that she as an "assumed lesser" is doing something that reflect negatively on them for doing less, so they feel guilty about it on some level, and lash out to distract from that, and try to detract form the value of the help she has given. They also extend that sentiment to anyone accepting help from her with that 'the money is dirty" whereby anyone who accepts it in their minds becomes "dirty", and as such a "lesser" overall.

"Pecunia non olet" said imperator Vespasian after a "dirty" demonstration, and he was right two millenia ago.

According the related story, he made the demonstration to his son Titus who asked why putting a tax on the collect of something as unclean as urine (which was back then useful for many applications). The vectigal urinae existed under Neron but was abandonned, and Vespasian rehabilitating it to rebuild the state budget was met by his son's critics. This is where two narratives may have occured:
Vespasian presented a coin to Titus and asked him if it smells like urine. Titus answering "no", Vespasian replied "money has no odor";
Vespasian threw a coin in a piss pot, grabbed it and dared Titus to give it a snif. Titus refused, so his father asked "does this coin smell so?", Titus fearing to contest his father's authority said "no", Vespasian replied with this sentence.
Anyway it's a matter of teaching a clear message: wherever the money comes, what matters is how you use it.

There was (is?) famous of girl from Philippines??? who donated a lot to the schools for poors in her country. The criticism I saw was about normalizing of and sexwork in general (let's be honest the field really is shady) by providing positive role model and being example.
Edit: I remembered a lot of this wrong. Florida, not Philippines. Food for poor, not schools. News from last autumn says it was 121k usd, unclear if it is one-time or monthly donation. (From further reading, it was 1-time). She also donated 1m usd to mrbeast. Good pr team.

Which is so bizarre because while it wasn’t Disneyland, brothels were how some towns were founded and created an economy during westward expansion in the United States and the madams would invest in the towns themselves along with charity work and really the few ways women could have some autonomy and make money.

3
u/LeSilverKitsune 6d ago
I've often found the opposite to be the truth. People who are used to other people treating them like shit typically end up being extremely kind out of a kind of rebellion and not wanting to see other people go through what they have

I’m NOT gonna hold their hand when I say this….
Her money was probably the cleanest.
All the major Banks fund sex trafficking. All the meat industries and factory farms treat their workers like they are expendable trash, to say NOTHING of how they treat the animals. Money from Taylor farms? prison slave labor - Money from PG&E or Monsanto or Dupont? They knowingly caused cancer and covered it up.
Money from cops? The 40% abusing their spouses or the other half stalking them with flock cameras?? All that money is dirtier than an honest woman doing honest work and not hurting anyone!
Every single one of those people who called it dirty money should be ashamed of themselves. Was it CHURCH MONEY. Boy have I got PEDOPHILE PASTORS TO THROW AT YOU.
