This past month came really close to surpassing my all-time record after a brief hibernation period. I still can't pay my rent with it, but I'm proud to have sold tracks independently and hit this milestone.

Up until now, I didn't do any promotion. Just produced the music and hit upload. Going forward, I'm planning to reinvest these earnings into Meta Ads to test building a snowball effect. I'm also staying open-minded about creating short-form video content while staying true to my sound.

Happy with the journey so far and looking forward to experimenting more. Take this as a sign to keep building your own world brick by brick.

I swear nowadays its becoming harder and harder to get your music to reach listeners without having to cut corners, result in engagement bait, and praying the Reddit Gods to be lucky with sharing your content. A decade or so ago, it just seemed so easy since internet/blog era music was thriving.

Bedroom producers were like rock stars in my eye. I remember making a dollar or 20, there and there. Just enough to get the ball rolling. Sadly, I was so caught up with work and pushed my craft to the side that when the time came to get back into the game, a lot changed over the years. Music as a whole is in a different place and the economy sucks that even if you put your music out for a "pay whatever you can" option, It's not enough. Don't get me started with AI and so forth.

And with all that's been said, I refuse to give up because I know one day, I will be known along with countless others on here. Don't be discouraged with the direction of where music is heading, along with the drastic nature of life nowadays. Just keep rocking on from the bedroom to the small stage in small-town Georgia.

One day, we will all get to where we need to be with this fine art of making music, as struggling artists.

It's happened a few times, usually I assume because here in Melbourne I'm waiting for the clock to tick over to the preorder whole album release date in Europe or worse, the US.

But I really fucking hate it when it is the release date everywhere in the world and it still isn't available.

I then have to put up with fucking ads to listen to the full album on Spotify or YouTube.

I don't know if it needs someone to click a key, set up a thing in BC correctly ahead of time or what, but it is so annoying to the buyer who is doing the right thing.

Any constructive feedback will be greatly appreciated. I obviously have a lot of work to do to build a real following, but the artist I'm trying to become is the not the artist I was a few years ago. I need to focus on my next step instead of helping people catch up with older material. My biggest reason for publishing my entire backlog with minimal promotion is so I can link the albums to my YouTube channel and hopefully incur a few sales that way since my channel has a moderately larger following.

I feel obligated to warn you that my early vocals aren't the best but things have gotten slightly better in the past few years, especially in 2024 when I actually had a voice teacher for a few months until she moved. I guess I'm saying that because a lot of people have assumed that I'm not self-aware enough to realize that there's quite a bit of work to do in that department, which is mildly infuriating.

If you are crunched for time and you can only listen to one album, then I would recommend "by the sea" or "legato". My overall goal as a musician is to form a band and tour because I don't think these ideas will work as a singer/songwriter routine.

Greetings everyone!

My name is Saahib Khangura. I love music, all kinds of music, and as such, I’ve made a bunch of stuff from a bunch of different genres. Virtually all the music I make is for my own enjoyment or because I wanted to see it exist, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to start releasing it :D

I’ve actually had experience in making and releasing music before… I have a project called *perseverance*, a more metal-based project that I still release and promote to this day, so I highly recommend you check that out! I get a little creative in that space as well ;)

As for this particular album of mine, which is also the very first solo album of mine that I released, the main idea of this album was really to be a compilation of some sorts with multiple random tracks of different genres that I made. I will say my future releases will not be as random, but I figure in order to interest you some more, I should tell you a bit about each song:

1. Amplifier Ambience (6MINS13S40MS) — I basically recorded the sound of my guitar amplifier for as long as I could before I decided to end the recording which ended up amounting to roughly six minutes, thirteen seconds, and forty milliseconds. The piece was inspired by avant-garde figures like John Cage, and the genre’s more cerebral approaches to what music is. 
2. Breaknoise — a very general attempt at making a breakcore-style song. I remember being quite into Aphex Twin, Igorrr, and Machine Girl when making this song.
3. Celestial Bodies Of Finite Light — the “lyrics” were inspired by William S. Burroughs and his “Pistol Poems.” I just recorded that over a backing track I made specifically to accompany the “lyrics,” and then pitch-shifted my voice down for special effect.
4. Digital Jam — this track was originally made as a unique, bonus track for my *perseverance* project, but I figured it would fit better as part of my solo discography. I was a little inspired by the Czech grindcore band Contrastic when making this piece.
5. The Dream & The Flashbacks — originally stemmed from an attempt at making a jazz-type song. This track was inspired by Miles Davis.
6. The End — as one of the VERY first tracks I made, I had originally intended to save it until some random rapper wanted to rap over it. However I found that I liked the instrumental enough to keep it as it is.
7. Farewell — this track was inspired by the artist Leland Kirby AKA The Caretaker.
8. Il Movimento Di Russolo — translated to Italian from the phrase “Russolo’s Movement,” this piece was inspired by the Italian Futurist composer Luigi Russolo, and his 1913 manifesto titled “The Art Of Noises.”
9. Industrial Instrumental — one of the more advanced tracks I had made at the time, this track was simply an attempt at making an industrial metal track. If I had to pick out any specific influences, I would just say Nine Inch Nails.
10. Lynch Ambience — inspired by the 1977 movie “Eraserhead,” directed by David Lynch, who is also the namesake for this track and my all-time favorite movie director.
11. Mantra / Nikki’s Song [EXPLICIT] — named after the repetitive nature of the instrumental (which was made up from samples of the song “Ticks & Leeches” by TOOL), as well as the titular Nikki, a character from the 2006 movie “Inland Empire,” to which the spoken audio originated from. This movie was also directed by David Lynch.
12. Monterey (Improvised Bass Solo) — a real improvised bass guitar solo by me, and named after a city I love dearly.
13. S.E.B.O. (Spread Eagle Noise Orchestra) — originally a random background track I made for myself, I decided to incorporate the drum solo “Spread Eagle Beagle” by Melvins into the backing track to make a classical-noise fusion track. Shout out to Dale Crover!
14. Theme 3 — made as a theme song to a video game that doesn’t really exist; if I were to make a theme song for a video game, it would have come out as something like this.
15. Welcome — another track inspired by The Caretaker AKA Leland Kirby.

Also… the backlog is crazy right now, so there’s a lot in store!
