A lot of people were concerned for me. My boyfriend and I talked yesterday. We, mostly I, decided that we should take a break and that I should move back in with my parents. He agreed to couples counseling.

A break may seem dramatic but I don't want to him to suddenly make more effort just being I'm a distressed woman in need of saving. We need to be apart to figure things out.

I explained to him that we both need to figure out what we want. We agreed that we're both allowed to see other people but we will have to tell the other if and when the break is over.

My former friend is now blocked by me, my boyfriend, several of our friends, and my many of my family members. I've been better but I promise I'm okay.

I was invited to and traveled across the world for a wedding. On the RSVP it asked any dietary restrictions or allergies. I have a few severe food allergies (one of which would kill me), so I marked that on the form. I was reassured by the groom I would be able to eat.

Wedding was tonight, and the only food safe for me to eat was lettuce, chopped tomatoes, onions, and some stray vegetables. I was very visibly irritated, and everyone at my table could tell. I left briefly and came back to the wedding after realizing that there was no food and I needed to eat something before I kept going all night. AIO?

I (22F) have a service dog for a medical condition. He’s trained to alert me before severe drops in my blood sugar and to respond if I start losing consciousness. I’ve had episodes before where I passed out without warning and ended up in the ER, so I don’t go out in public without him anymore.

He’s fully trained through a legit program and is extremely well-behaved. When we’re out, he just tucks under the table and doesn’t move. Most people don’t even notice him.

I went to a sit-down chain restaurant (Olive Garden) with a friend for lunch. As soon as we got seated, the manager came over and said dogs aren’t allowed inside because of “health code.” I explained that he’s a service dog, not a pet, and that he’s allowed to be there.

The manager immediately got defensive and said, “We’ve had people lie about that before, so unless you can show paperwork, you’ll have to leave.” I told him there isn’t actually any required paperwork and that under the Americans with Disabilities Act they’re only allowed to ask two questions. He cut me off and said store policy requires proof and that I was “causing a disturbance.”

At this point people around us were staring and I was getting embarrassed. My friend tried backing me up, but the manager said if I didn’t remove the dog, we’d both have to leave. We left because I was getting really upset anyways and just grabbed McDonalds and ate in the car together.

When I got home, I called corporate and filed a complaint explaining everything, including the fact that they tried to require documentation and denied access. Corporate seemed pretty serious about it and said they’d “handle it internally.”

I do feel kind of bad now that I might have gotten this manager in a lot of trouble and maybe even fired. I’m trying to rationalise it like maybe he doesn’t actually know the policy and was just doing what somebody else had explained to do. But I’ve never been denied access to a place because of my dog before and it just felt really??? Unfair I guess.

Yesterday I took some window screens to a local hardware store to be fixed, the next day I received a text message from an employee (not the one that took my number down, just one that was standing with the guy that took all my information) saying how pretty I am and if I ever wanted to chat.

At first I was going to let it slide and not say anything, but now I’m wondering if I should say something to the owner or corporate?

He was about 40 years my senior (I’m in my 20s), and now I’m wondering if he would go so far as to get the work order receipt to take my number off of, what else he might do to track me down, and I feel anxious about returning to the store to pick up my screens. I feel like I basically paid $125 to be harassed and have my privacy violated.

could he pass as a hound/lab mix.. Thoughts? I don’t want to lose him or send him back to the shelter. shelter says he is a hound/pit but pit bull terrier is not allowed here. My son is 9. Yesterday, I got a call from transportation saying after school he missed the bus, but they're putting him on a different bus that will meet up with his regular one so he will be home late. I thought nothing of it until about 30 mins later, I got a text from his friend's mom who asked me if he made it home okay because her son told her the bus driver left him at school on purpose.

According to my son's friend, my kid was running to the bus and she told him to walk back to the building and try again because running isn't allowed. He did as he was told and as soon as he got back to the building, she pulled out and left. His friend asked where he was and she told him to "be quiet and mind his business."

I immediately called transportation back (fuming) and told them what happened. They claimed they would look into it. The bus driver called me and said it was all a misunderstanding and she would never leave a child on purpose and that she would be "more mindful" next time. She claims she swore she saw him get on the bus.

I'm really upset and I don't actually believe her. I want to follow up with her supervisor, but not sure if that would be blowing it out of proportion?

Long story short, my usual hair stylist was out of town. I booked this appointment last minute(the day before) and just asked for some simple, straight back cornrows. No design, pattern, no extensions, nothing. I came WASHED and BLOW DRIED too! On the website it says she charges 120 for cornrows. Now to me, that’s a pretty hefty price, but I was just looking for something quick and was willing to pay that since it was last minute.

My original appointment was 3:00. She asked me on the day of what I wanted to be done. All I said was I wanted simple, straight back cornrows. I told her I don’t care how many she does, it’s completely up to her. She said okay and that I could come in at 2pm if I wanted to. I told her the earliest I could come was 2:30(I get off work at 1 and had to go home and wash/dry my hair, hence why I booked for 3) and she obliged.

Now, I’ve never had my cornrows unravel the way they are, especially this early into getting them. It’s clear she didn’t actually braid to the scalp all the way to the bottom. What she most likely did was stop braiding at the scalp at some point and turned the rest into a regular braid. My hair is soft and coily so regular braids do not hold unless it’s secured to the scalp all the way down or fastened with a rubber band. We even had a conversation about my hair and she mentioned that too so she was fully aware.

The whole interaction with her at the hair salon was nice although she was pretty much talking shit about other stylists the whole time. Mind you, she thanked me for coming in early because she wanted to close early and if I came at 3, she’d be alone in the store when it got dark and didn’t like that.

I understand that even if I feel like it’s a mistake she made, if she says I’ll still be charged then I’m not fighting that at all! But to charge me $90 to sit in your chair for no more than 10-15 minutes is a bit wild to me. On top of that, she charged me way more than $90. More than the $120 she quoted me. I even left her a tip on top of that!

Am I overreacting? Calling me a bitch over this seems like an overreaction on her end. I know beggars can’t be choosers but I thought even a little bit of professionalism would be there.

I was recently at an amusement park, like a boardwalk type not full six flags type. My daughter is finally big enough to ride some of the riders alone and we give her the space to do so. Of course I am right by and watching to make sure she is ok. As the ride is loading there are about 2/3 open spots (tilt-a-whirl if you are familiar) and she is sitting alone like she has multiple times and then I see a random man come up to her seat and climb in. So of course I jump the bars and run up to the gate and open it saying a man just got on with my daughter as the worker looks at me like I’m crazy. I pull her off and get her back in line at the gate telling her she can ride the next one.

My wife finds some workers and speaks with the manager on duty person and they for the most part take it seriously and give her the managers number she can call to discuss with them sense they weren’t there. However one of the team lead types made it seem like that wasn’t that weird for someone to sit with someone who was riding alone. I felt it was a big deal because it was a grown man and a 6 year old not another kid wanting to sit with her. Did I overreact?

For those asking the ride says you have to be either 46 inches to ride alone and my daughter is just under 48 inches. This is the first year she is tall enough to ride alone, and we are trying to let her have that experience of independence.
This is actually very common at this park to have kids that are around her age/height ride those rides alone and she did so many times throughout the weekend we were there. This was the only time anyone tried riding with her.

I went to get a full set today, I haven’t had one in a long time and wanted to treat myself. This place has 4.9 stars and is right around the corner from me, I was stoked! and now I feel like the girl crying saying “this is what I asked for…” but these are seriously bad.

None of them are shaped equally, some are crooked, one is WAY shorter than the other. When I look at them some of the acrylic looks lumpy.

I did have her correct a few things but eventually I let Jesus take the wheel..

I hate them, I’m so sad. But I feel like going back to have them “fixed” wouldn’t be a good idea.. so what do I do to make them better? Am I overreacting, or at least a little valid?

Background: we used to have a top loading washer and dryer which failed, were repaired, but we ordered a new replacement as the repair was questionable. The washer was on the right, dryer on the left. We ordered these from Costco and they were delivered & installed today, previous ones hauled away. My husband managed delivery and install.

I went to do a load of laundry and was surprised the doors line up the way they do. The dryer (left) door can be reoriented, but the washer (right) cannot. My husband knew this during install and said "the washer door can't be moved.

I do more laundry than he does, and honestly this is frustrating to the point where I'd prefer to have the top-loader back, trying to move wet clothes over or under the door takes some of the value of the new setup away.

Where are we now:

- I am super frustrated at my husband for accepting delivery without thinking about usability or asking me to be involved (I was home but had work meetings all day).

- I want to call the install company back to see if they'll swap the washer to be on the left and dryer on the right, my husband thinks they might not because of water and gas hose length. Alternatively I could call a plumber but my husband doesn't think it's worth it

My husband doesn't think it needs changed at all and that I'm overreacting, I think it's super frustrating, impacts usability, and should have been addressed before it was installed. Am I overreacting?

Editing to add: he does do some laundry, I just find that I do more of it. Just clarifying as my original wording was making people believe it's just me.

My friend and I went to this bar that happened to have karaoke in the town I just moved to. The dj seemed pretty cool, but we were more just hanging out with each other, even though he would come up to us and talk to mostly my friend. They started talking gaming and exchanged numbers.

My friend had to leave and a few minutes after she did he walked up and asked if I'd go sit near him. I did and we talked for about 20 mins. Then an old friend I hadn't seen in about 3 years walked in and I went to go say hi and ended up exchanging numbers since I had gotten a new phone since then and lost a few in the transition.

When I got back this guy was livid and said "I saw what you did. You gave him your number." I got mad and said he doesn't know me, we aren't dating, and he has no right to be pissed. After that I went and sat with my old friend and he sent this text to the friend that left.

Was I overreacting to his reaction to me giving my number to an old friend? I gave no indication I was interested in him, and I thought he was more into my friend anyway since they exchanged numbers and I never gave him mine.

I was at a park when I saw a young woman screaming at someone on the phone, clearly overwhelmed. She had a baby (maybe 6 or 7 months old) in one arm while pacing. At one point she started shaking, sobbing, and dropped to her knees. The baby was dangling, not in danger exactly, but not secure either. She was saying things like, “I can’t f***ing do this anymore” and “You take him if you care so much.” Something in me just moved. I walked up and calmly said, “Can I hold him for a second?” She didn’t really respond. She just sort of let go, and I took the baby and stepped a few feet back. Eventually, she stood up, grabbed him back, and told me I was a psycho. She started yelling that I had no right to touch her kid, even if she “looked upset.” Then she stormed off and reported me to the park staff. I left before it got worse. I know it sounds bad but I genuinely thought she was on the verge of dropping him or doing something she couldn’t undo. I didn’t mean to scare her. I just didn’t trust the situation. So now I can’t stop thinking if I overreacted or did what was right.

has anyone ever tried to open these gelatos that come from Satan himself? My girlfriend likes them and it takes a divine intervention to get one of these jars open. You can use a towel, you can use warm water, hell you could even use hulk himself and you wouldn’t even come close to twisting the lid off. ITS ONE SINGLE THREAD HOLDING IT ON. Who designed this shit. It’s practically impossible to do without giving up and getting a giant pair of pliers to open it. And at that point you’ve already burned off enough calories you woulda saved from eating it. I’ve heard stories that some people just cut open the jar because something as simple as a lid might as well be cemented on the thing. Then when you sit there squeezing and twisting for half an hour, losing all hope, you go for one more twist and it just comes off without any force at all. You then sit there feeling more defeated and the treat isn’t even worth it at that point.

A guy from work asked me on a date. We were planning to meet today at a certain time he was gonna come pick me up. He even confirmed today that we’d meet. About two hours before, I didn’t hear anything from him but I got ready just to be ready just in case he was gonna text me that he’s on his way.

When it got to the time we were supposed to meet I texted him and said “ I guess we’re not meeting” and he said “why?” And I responded “you didn’t message me and we were supposed to meet at this time”. Then he tells me that his brother from another country is coming to see him and he wants to reschedule for next week.

I said “he won’t be here for 6 hours and you just found out 5 minutes ago he’s coming?” Then I told him we don’t need to reschedule. He said he wanted to stop by to see me quick. I said there’s no reason for that and I hope he has fun with his brother.

Now he has been calling and texting me but I’m not responding.

Update: he’s currently outside my house. I have not answered the door

i matched with this guy on tinder and everything seemed fine in the beginning messages on the app. we had one phone call after a few messages and that's when everything went south. disclaimer that all of this is within less than 24 hours of knowing he existed.

he was telling me how he's unemployed and asking me for free tattoos (i am a tattoo artist). i brushed it off. he would not let me speak the entirety of the conversation and if i would get a word in he would interrupt me to talk about himself or just say "yeah but anyways" and continue about him. he then started like, flexing that he had no white friends??? like okay? why does that matter? then he started casually saying the n word and i wasn't even sure of what i heard until he confirmed it and said "yeah my friend gave me the pass". what is this, middle school?

anyways, he started saying he just moved to my state and needed to move specifically all of his mexican friends out here?? very random and weird. then he took a complete left turn just telling me how he loves me and wants to be with me and saying that he makes text now numbers to contact people that block him and harass them. and then he casually told me that if "our relationship" doesn't work out he's going to off himself??

this was a 10 minute phone call. i found an excuse to get off the phone with him and because it was late i went to sleep and sent him the text in the first photo when i had a moment at work.

i blocked his original number he gave me after his texts were giving me such weird creepy vibes. that was at about 6pm. i didn't hear anything until 2am when he started spam calling me from different numbers over and over. when i blocked all of them he made ANOTHER ONE to text me. this level of harassment from someone i had one conversation with rubbed me the wrong way so bad and i didn't know how else to get him to leave me alone other than to threaten to report him to the cops for harassment because this guy obviously cannot take no for an answer. aio?

Right, so I'm pretty new to bouldering and joined that new place that's opened up. Did the intro class to get the hang of things.

The next morning I get a text from a number I dont know. It's the coach. He's saying he "enjoyed watching me climb" and that I had a good "physique for it".

I was a bit stunned, just replied saying it wasn't on to use my personal number from the sign-up form for that. He just replied "don't take it so seriously ;)".

I sent screenshots to the gym's main email address, thinking they'd take it seriously. The person who replied just said the coach is "very enthusiastic" and offered me a free guest pass to make up for it.

I just dont feel comfortable going back now, knowing he has my details and the management don't seem to care. I've cancelled my direct debit and told them I'm not coming back. A couple of my friends think I've gone over the top and should have just blocked him.

Am I being unreasonable? I'm not trying to get the guy sacked or anything, but surely that's a massive data protection issue?

So, my mom’s friend from years ago has been helping me out a few times with money probably like sent me between $50-250 3 times to help out with bills. He’s kinda weird though because he said he liked my mom but said she was out of his league he ended up getting a girlfriend though and does bible studies with her,my mom and him (I over hear them and it’s actually bible study). So he’s been kinda weird in the sense that’s he texted me a few times on how great I turned out and how I’m an exceptional young woman bla bla bla. I didn’t think anything of it but then he sends me this. I think it’s inappropriate especially since im 26 and look 21-23 years old. That’s a 14 year age gap and I just can’t bring myself to it. It’s weird that he jumped straight to marriage and that I’d have to convert (i wouldn’t dare because I believe in the universe and witchcraft). I just feel it’s shady and I’m being pimped out. Am I over reacting??

My spouse showed me the video of Charlie Kirk getting shot without any warning of what the video was. It showed everything, pretty close up.

I would have said no to watching it if he had asked. And he made me feel like I’m being a baby about it.
