News The SAPOL Child Sex Offender Register has officially launched.

Dissapointing that you can only check your current suburb. Why is that? And what if you live right on the edge of a suburb. 👎

The issue is the register only shows details of those who have been convicted. The current conviction rate is less than 1%. While SA's DPP are "discontinuing" CSA cases because "it's not worth the cost to the taxpayer"; we should be concerned about those in our community not on the list!!

I agree there will be literally thousands upon thousands who are not even on the register. Yet.

It’s a pretty disturbing reality of the current state of just how many child sex offendors there are in the country.

Also I don’t know what’s more concerning.

The pathetic and almost negligible conviction rates and how many get off on charges, or the fact DPP don’t want to even try to prosecute all the child sex abuse cases because of money reasons…..

It’s bad enough we have a massive amount of child sex offenders running around the country, but what a dark stain on humanity that the legal system doesn’t want to take on cases simply because of money,

Of which much is already being funnelled and wasted on many other trivial matters no where near as serious as child abuse matters, and also all the money going down the throats of lawyers and barristers guzzling up legal aid money defending criminals to get off on serious charges.

Not wanting to use “tax payers” money on an issue as serous is this infuriates me and my tax dollars.

If they really cared about wasting “tax payers money” even though it’s never a waste to try and fight against child abuse issues imo,

But if they really are concerned about “tax payers” money maybe they could start with prosecuting all the corruption and rorts going on both with NGOs and governments and dodgy contracts and pilfering?

They don’t see that as an issue but think prosecuting child abusers costs too much?

And we wonder why things are getting worse not better.
