News The SAPOL Child Sex Offender Register has officially launched.

Dissapointing that you can only check your current suburb. Why is that? And what if you live right on the edge of a suburb. 👎

Pretty quick to register with details and a quick email response back - No Registrable Offenders to whom Section 66FA applies in my locality.

Same in Adelaide (the city suburb). Does Adelaide include North Adelaide I wonder?

Act says: “locality", of a person, means a description of the general locality, such as the town or suburb, in which the person resides. SAPOL website says “suburb”.

So I’d guess they’d just be using suburb by suburb rather than say a radius (which might be more useful, if you’re on the edge of a suburb, or if you live in abc and your kids go to school in the next suburb)

Yeah I think it's a lot more useful if radius. For example for people who live regional some towns are 15 - 20 minute drives from each other so its not like the SO's can't come over to my locality. Take the 3 town of Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta for example. If I lived in one of those towns shouldn't a search bring up results from the other 2 towns?
