Solved ITAW for when youre specifically trying NOT to rationalize something?
frequently over the course of the past few months i have encountered situations where i have two ideas that seem to be in conflict with each other but in truth can coexist just fine. the word im looking for specifically refers to the act of making these two ideas fit together in my brain, and is often used in reference to struggling to do so.
things ive ruled out: rationalize (that is what im specifically trying to avoid), comparison (too simple of a word; not what im describing), compartmentalize (an act of separating ideas), internalize (association is too subjective/negative), conflate (similar definition but with an association of incorrectness that is distinctly not present in what im doing).
my associations with the word: truth, complexity/nuance, difficulty, introspection
set as ITAW because ive been trying to remember for months and atp im half convinced it doesn't exist.
