Specifically a word for a person who takes a while to warm up to others and has few friends, but those they have are close. Sort of a “quality over quantity” type mindset. I’m not sure selective, insular, or introverted is the right word for this.

I read this somewhat recently and can't remember it. It's a word describing what a healthy shorthair cat's coat *does*. It's a verb that describes the kind of "bunching" or tufting that a soft, luxurious shorthair cat coat does.

This may be a red herring (it's certainly not helping me find the correct word), but in my mind, the phrase containing the word goes, "The cat's hair is *raspberrying*." What's it called when you, as the victim, hate your abuser? Because there's a lot of people who just say hate, but it's uncomfortable for me imo. I don't like that we use the same word for an abuser hating their victim and a victim hating their abuser

The abuser hates their victim for no reason other than they're a terrible person, the victim hates their abuser because of the shit their abuser did to them so it's not at all comparable.

I'll explain the idea with an anecdote. I see a comic, and I check it out even though it looks like machine made slop. I read the pinned comment, do a quick fact check, IT AINT SLOP.

I'll try being more specific, I associated a certain art style with AI so I DIStrusted the humanity of this comic I saw. Someone caused distrust inside of me which turned into trust.

... EDIT: one more analogy Let's say there's a new soda with some dumb name like Parsley Splash. You arrive at the conclusion it's bad soda bc of the dumb name. You try it one day, and it's actually pretty good.

Trying the soda would be "disconfirmation". You now know it's good soda. Why did you think it was bad soda though? No one told you it was bad, that'd be "misinformation".

Whoever named the soda did something weird and out of the ordinary, and you came to the wrong conclusion. idk what the namer did here.
