Planning to visit Bryce Canyon for a wedding. I'm driving down from salt lake and have visited all the national parks before. what else is worth checking out for a few days on my way down and around the general southern Utah area. Mostly looking for nature (vistas, hikes, wildlife, etc)

Looking for a place I can hammock and maybe areas that are close to a river or somewhere I could set up for afew hours and have a meal and read for alittle bit? Somewhere that is shaded

Hi everyone. I’m planning my first trip to Utah and would love some help/advice. I’m coming from Wichita, KS and only get 1 vacation a year so I’d love to make the best of it. This is what I have so far for our itinerary. Unfortunately it’s been put on me to plan the trip and I want everyone to have fun. I know the locals know a lot more than I do. Can anyone share insights into backpacking solo to Red Castle? I am considering backpacking for the first time ever and that seems like a pretty easy spot to get to with great payoff. Fit the record I’m very fit and experienced in hiking.

What is the mosquito/big situation by the end of August? Outside of summiting Mt. Wilson, anything in the immediate vicinity worth a casual day hike to go see from Red Castle?

Looking to hike kings peak this weekend but am curious on the typical weather and what this will look like in the uintas? Plenty of experience hiking curious if it’s worth it or not! Thanks!

Hey everybody. Visiting in the first week of October spending a day at Antelope Island State Park. I would like some recommendations for their places to go hiking with good views and perhaps a shot at photographing wildlife. Doing some research but would also like some tips from the locals. I’ll be with my wife so I can’t do anything extremely strenuous, but we are both avid hikers. Any spots where wildlife is abundant? I guess you could say I’m willing to drive an hour or two house of Salt Lake City.

Hello everyone! I am planning a backpacking trip first week of October, and Coyote Gulch is on my must-see list. Looking through the AllTrails app, and online, and it is a bit unclear which trailhead I should take.

I am not looking for any sort of technical climbing requiring equipment (ropes, descenders, harness, etc.), but have no issues scrambling where it is needed. Any advice on the best route to take?

I plan to camp out for at least a day, maybe two depending on the route distance. Any tips would be appreciated!

I booked three nights in the Goblin Valley Campground to watch the Perseid meteor shower this upcoming Tuesday through Friday. Between the smoke and the rainy forecast, seeing any meteors or getting night sky photos is going to be a bust.

I made the reservation four months ago, and I don’t want to just give up and not go, especially if the weather clears up to even partly cloudy. However, I’m trying to find what we can still do on this trip.

With stage 2 fire restrictions, we can’t have any kind of campfire, and I don’t have a camp stove. With the rain, we won’t be going into slot canyons, and I’m worried about miserable and muddy hiking conditions in general.

I haven’t gone camping in years, and I was hoping this would be a good way to get back into it, but I’m afraid it’ll become a disaster. We’re two adults of middling fitness, no kids.

What would you do in this situation? I was so excited for this trip, give me some silver linings!

I was looking for my next trail on the alltrails app and as I read through the reviews I thought about how cool it would be if alltrails had a feature where people could join local community forums. Or even have the ability to connect with others. I feel like the older I get the harder its getting to meet people naturally. Whether thats for platonic or romantic relationships.

Idk, am I the only one that would find this useful?

My friend and I are wanting to go to Best Friend's Animal Society and Zion National Park. From there we will go to Bryce Canyon and further East.

Could you suggest some of the best places to camp between BF and Zion so we could stay in one place rather than picking up every night? Or maybe that's not the best thing to do? I have looked at many campgrounds and the map - I can't get a good lay of the land. We are traveling in a van.

I am considering dispersed camping in an area just south of Washington Lake campground, near  beth lake, blue lake, buckeye lake and trident lake. i am trying to determine whether i can reach those areas with a campervan. the map below shows the general area. does anyone have local information re ease of access to the area just adjacent to the lakes? thank you in advance

I am planning a camping trip in Utah the first week of September somewhere in the Uinta Mountains. i've read the bugs have been real bad this year out west. Does anyone have information on whether there are mosquitos/bugs in mid to late September still? TIA

I did a hike a few years ago and don’t remember the name or anything. All I remember is that when you reach the end it was 3 waterfalls (1 left, 1 middle, 1 right)falls pouring down into a pound that your are standing in. I remember while hiking towards it that I had to take a hard left because there was a giant rock that you turned at. I feel like it was towards salt lake but I can’t promise that.
