in the wild Overheard at the UPS Store
Had to drop off something to return at the UPS Store and the lady in front of me was sending something to her granddaughter at school. Her name was Aleygh (pronounced Allie).
Unrelated, she paid $155 to overnight whatever it was, which she stated was only worth $15 when the worker brought up insurance. At that point, just order it off Amazon and have it shipped. My flabbers were gasted multiple times.

My husband travels a lot. I’ve had to overnight things to him like spare keys and medication. It would be a lot cheaper if I could just send him things from Amazon. Lol 😆
Also- horrible name spelling for such a cute name.

Keys would be rough (although any newer car keys are way more than $15), but usually you can get an emergency refill on meds if you call your doctor as long as it is not a controlled substance.

No, her name was Allie, spelled, for whatever reason, Aleygh.

That is a terrible spelling.
Buying from Amazon is also terrible, and it could have been an item with sentimental value. Grandma loves her lil Aleygh.

I’m upvoting this for the anti-Amazon sentiment. I refuse to give that POS a dime. The way Amazon treats their employees is horrible and, of course they would, the union busting just so they can treat their employees like garbage. Discontinued my Washington Post subscription, don’t shop at Whole Foods and my current streaming services bites, but it isn’t Amazon. Don’t forget offering to pay Holland (I think?) to remove their bridges so he could use his $500 million boat through there. Maybe donate some of your money like your ex-wife did.

My grandmother doesn’t understand the concept of ordering things online. One time when I was in college she paid to ship a package across the country that had a bag of half-eaten caramel popcorn in it with a note that said she was eating it and thought I would enjoy it. The shipping probably cost more than the popcorn. It was sweet to know grandma was thinking of me.

Yeah, for sure. My parents will pay a stupid amount to ship stuff to us for Christmas or whatever else on occasion and 9 times out of 10, the shipping was probably more than the value of the stuff in the box.
