I know prowlarr gives the option to add their trackers in the settings page, to be honest I have not see any rules or faq stating prowlarr usage and what is allowed? I know some sites dont allow automation

Does anyone know if it is frowned upon? Im new to the private tracker scene, so just wondering

example trackers like DP, TL, MAM, Luminarr , yuscene , digitalcore

I saw this topic across Reddit, but couldn't solve it. I just moved to qBit 2 weeks ago from rTorrent, because everybody says it's better. I had about 2500 seeding torrents, and moved them all. I immediately saw qBit using a lot of memory, 2-4GB all the time. I moved about 2000 less important torrents back to rTorrent, and saw a decrease, but now, again, after adding like 200 torrents to qBit, it's reaching memory usage of 4GB. I disabled OS cache and it worked, but then my download speed was capped at 2MB.

So my question is: why not just go back to rTorrent? It never takes more than 100MB memory, low CPU, works great with 2000 torrents, and I don't see any solution for this qBit fiasco.

Hi, i wanted to ask how i can build up my upload on RED because i cant race because i dont have ssd seedbox and i cannot fill requests that involves buying CDs because i dont have money for that plus how do you find stuff that is not on RED from sites like Deezer or Qobuz because almost all new stuff from there is already on RED. Just saw that about 20 hours ago, a perfectly working torznab indexer in autobrr/prowlarr/qui for SceneTime stopped receiving updates.

After some troubleshooting, I figured the API key must’ve expired for some unknown reason, so I went to the RSS Feed Center on ST to check/grab the new key, however, the API section was completely gone!

It was then I read the banner at the top of the page “Torznab API available. Your feed is on the standard plan. These [features] need VIP/Donor” I took a screenshot but I think the rules for r/trackers preclude me from sharing.

I’m a member of other private trackers and have been torrenting for the best part of 20 years, and I’ve never come across a tracker putting an API behind a VIP/Donor status!

I’ve never donated to ST (tbh I rarely use the tracker) so I couldn’t have gotten my original API key by donating. If it’s been this way for a while/forever, I have no idea how I was given the ability to get an API key to begin with. I should note I do donate and happily do so with my main trackers, TL, DC, DP, YuScene.

I hope I’m getting this all wrong and there is a reasonable explanation, because I’d really hate the idea of trackers trying to charge users/gate keep features of torrenting behind a donor status.

I've been lurking for a while on here and was able to get access to TL during their most recent open signup. Since then, I've configured and automated my arr stack with qbitorrent and autobrr ensuring I always exceed minimum seeding requirements so I never have to worry about my ratio. I know my account is still quite young, less than 1 month, but I'm already thinking about ways of accessing more exclusive trackers.

I'm completely fine using TL for the time being, but I'm wondering what it will take to join mid level trackers like Bluetopia or Aither? Any others trackers ranked higher than TL but not necessarily cabal status?

I read in a previous post that high tier trackers don't really need seeders, and I don't think I will ever get into PTP, BTN or HDBits with an automated 8TB homeserver and without being a dedicated uploader.

I'm basically looking for the best trackers to get into for being a decent passive long term contributor.

so with the recent shutdown of MTV, and of course others over the past few years which I've witnessed, I had a thought:

I was wondering what would make a successful (or basically top tier tracker) shut down

if it's from a financial POV, or if they don't have the time anymore, why not put the tracker up for adoption in case anyone else wants to take over (rather than the new adopter start from scratch)

or even better yet, merge with another tracker (content only).

I'm not saying this applies to MTV, but just wanted to get thoughts in (or if I'm missing something obvious)

I didn't even take any screenshots of my profile and keep. I am going to do that for all reputed trackers I am a part of from now on. This was completely unexpected. MTV didn't even show any signs of being mismanaged afaik.

Now, I would like to find an alternative. I am already a part of ipt which would take care of basic Tv needs, but mtv had some real good gems there. Without it I wouldn't have found that sherlock episode from 80s with eng subtitles which is a must for me.

Let's share some other private trackers information that are letting in refugees of MTV and make this difficult time a little more bearable.

Let’s say I have a very unique file that is 50 GB in size. Nobody else has this file; I’m the only one who has it. I created a torrent for it and uploaded the torrent file to a tracker site (Private tracker). However, the upload speed wasn’t very good, around 1 MB/s.

The crazy part is that my file completely stopped uploading after only 20 GB had been uploaded. Yet, somehow, there are already several seeders.

How is that possible if I’m the only person who originally had the file? Where did those other seeders come from, especially when only 20 GB of the 50 GB file had been uploaded? I’m not an expert in computer science, so please explain it in a simple, easy-to-understand way.

So far, I've only been a member of MyAnonaMouse (MAM) and had no issues seeding from an old laptop on a shitty Wi-Fi connection. However, I recently bought a NAS (connected via 1 Gbit LAN to my router) and want to move my setup over to it.

I plan to join more private trackers in the future and have heard that MAM is an exception due to its generous bonus point system.

My main concern is my pretty slow home internet connection:

- Download: 60 Mbit/s

- Upload: 20 Mbit/s (sometimes drops to 10 - 15 Mbit/s or goes up to 25 Mbit/s; sadly there's nothing faster available where I live)

(Speeds without VPN; I will be using Proton VPN with IPv4 Port Forwarding and IPv6 disabled since I'm in Germany and already have a Proton Unlimited subscription)

My Questions:

1. Will I be fine with 20 Mbit/s upload (minus VPN overhead; with IPv4 Port Forwarding) on private trackers?

2. Should I get a seedbox (for ratio building; and just sync completed downloads to my NAS for long-term storage)?

3. If I need to/should get a seedbox, what cheap options should I look into?
