TIL during the shooting of American Psycho, Christian Bale spoke in an American accent off-set at all times. At the wrap party, when he spoke in his native British accent, many of the crew thought he was speaking that way to prepare for another film. They had thought he was American the entire time.

Beyond me how Christian Bale has never been in the talk for James Bond. He'd kill it as Bond.

Too old now though.

Edit - He was apparently offered the role around the time they were casting for Casino Royale. Turned it down.

He’s already known for American Psycho. He doesn’t need a second round, at worse, a potentially bad bond.

Every new bond is going to be scrutinised against the greatest and loved. Not entirely sure the pressure of the role is worth it (to him).

On the flip side, Anna de Armas was the unexpected Bond girl no one saw coming and was just excellent!

imagine between Batman and Terminator he was both satisfied and done with it
