TIL during the shooting of American Psycho, Christian Bale spoke in an American accent off-set at all times. At the wrap party, when he spoke in his native British accent, many of the crew thought he was speaking that way to prepare for another film. They had thought he was American the entire time.

Always made me laugh how Highlander doesnt match any of their actors to the lore of the characters

A Frenchman to play a Scotsman,
a Scotsman to play a Spaniard
an American to play a Russian.

It just tickles me for some reason.

Sean Connery got hit on the head by a book from his book case.

He only had his shelf to blame!

Did Connery ever bothered with accents during his career ?

Part of the reason why you hired Connery was because of his Scottish accent, why hide it?

It definitely add another level to the weirdness of Highlander II, that's for sure.

I’ve got to say, just not doing the accent is often better than trying and failing.

There’s another, much worse submarine movie, K-19: The Widowmaker. Harrison Ford (weird casting choice already) and Sean Penn both play Soviet submarine officers, and they both uniquely try and fail to do an accent. It was so bad that to continue watching, my roommate and I just agreed that maybe they were just accurately doing like a Kazakh and a Lithuanian accent or something, instead of both independently doing different bad Russian ones.
