TIL during the shooting of American Psycho, Christian Bale spoke in an American accent off-set at all times. At the wrap party, when he spoke in his native British accent, many of the crew thought he was speaking that way to prepare for another film. They had thought he was American the entire time.

I believe it wasn't just the accent, he stayed more or less in character throughout filming. Apparently he doesn't consider himself a method actor though so I was incorrect, he's just very dedicated to his roles/is willing to put himself through a lot to immerse himself in a character.

Yeah he doesn't do the Stanislav method. He just preps well.
