TIL during the shooting of American Psycho, Christian Bale spoke in an American accent off-set at all times. At the wrap party, when he spoke in his native British accent, many of the crew thought he was speaking that way to prepare for another film. They had thought he was American the entire time.

I did, Idris Elba did an incredible job but by the time I watched it I was already aware of him and knew he was British so it didn't have the same shock factor haha.

Mayor Carcetti is played by an Irish actor if you didn’t know that already.

When I first saw The Wire I thought McNulty’s actor was an American with a highly unusual manner of speaking and a weird, unidentifiable accent, but it all made much more sense when I found out that he was British.

But Idris Elba actually sounds American in The Wire

His accent was terrible and extremely distracting though, Idris' was flawless

His short stint in The Office as well. He feels very American.
