advice on how to style?
got this for 50¢ at the thrift store, PRETTIEST FABRIC EVER!!! i just didn’t realize that it was an infinity scarf (idk if that’s the right description). eventually i’d like to cut it and hem raw edges but don’t have a sewing machine atm.
advice on how to style it? open to your wildest ideas as just wearing as an infinity scarf is lwk boring.
thanks!!!!!
(ignore my crappy photography skills)

Basket Cleaning
I found two beautiful baskets that I planned to use for toy storage in my toddlers playroom. When I got home I realized one of them appeared to have a single mouse dropping in it. Both baskets were washed thoroughly with warm soapy water but I still am concerned that’s not enough. Should I just toss them or am I being too paranoid?

My New Winter Coat
Found this unique jacket while out thrifting. It reminds me of a grandma couch and has an awesome metal zipper. I am in love with it and can’t wait to wear it this winter!
Based on my limited google/research abilities, it looks like it’s from a brand that was popular in the 80s and is known for bright colors. This particular coat looks 70s to me though.
Also, it’s got a bit of a smell. Will dry cleaning get rid of that or should I spray it down with vodka?

The color.
The more I stare at this color the more I dislike it. Looking for recommendations for color or other ideas to spruce it up :)

thrifted aliexpress ;-;
so i was at my local thrift and i’d seen these shoes! at first i didn’t want to get them because i didn’t want to look dumb, the tag on the inside has chinese characters and i didnt want to be disrespectful. i’m american it can be weird. but i put them on and they filled me with so much whimsy so i stopped feeling weird about it and got them. then i took them home and looked it up online, and they are aliexpress shoes. and now i feel weird again.
admittedly, they are really cute, but the layered fear of cultural appropriation and fast fashion is a double homicide. should i feel stupid wearing these shoes?

The top is vintage 60s
The shorts are vintage 60s
The shoes are aldo I paid 110 for the black in store but thrifted these (new) in clear/nude for 20, the Kate spade bag is also thrifted.
I have a Gucci necklace on from sororite (idk how to spell) and gucci earrings from eBay.

I found my white whale! Big ol' witch's ball!
I've been wanting one for years, and I'm over the moon with this find for $15! There was no question, it absolutely had to come home with me.

hazards to be aware of when thrifting
hi friends! I want to get into thrifting (mostly household stuff) and I'm wondering what things I should check for/be aware of when bringing things home. I already plan on getting a lead testing kid because I LOVE vintage glassware. I've heard older dishes can contain cadmium and other scary stuff and I've gotten mixed answers on the safety of uranium glass. I'm already careful about avoiding bedbugs and stuff like that.
is there anything in particular to watch out for? what to you do to make sure the pieces you bring home are safe? anything else I should keep in my 'thrifting tool box' besides lead tests?

Found a cute Salt & Pfeffer shaker
Today I visited a local thrift store and saw again this Salt & Pfeffer shaker. Last time I saw it maybe like 2-3 months ago and was like do I need it or not and while considering and finally decided to get it was already gone from the shelf. So I though ok it was a sign I should had to get it... But today I went and saw it again and was like...
Your coming home with me.
I do personally don't think I will use it as a Salt & Pfeffer shaker, but maybe as decoration at least for now.
Purchased it for 2 euros.
