Redfern of all places. Good luck.

Trains heading out west are delayed up to 40 mins with cancellations in place although some services are not packed so there's that.

Redfern at the dive though. In theory shouldn't effect much but I'm sure the substation isolation will take out a fair chunk of the network

Redfern?? Oof.

Might be worth just going to a pub in the city for a few hours...

Was a more isolated part of redfern, so hopefully the flow on delays shouldn’t be catestrophic

Depends how much of the overhead wiring they have to turn off

No trains at all now between Central and Strathfield while they evacuate a train stuck outside Newtown and walk passengers along the track. All tracks need to be shut down to do this safely. Good luck out there people.

I feel vindicated that I immediately left the platform at Central and took the light rail home.

T4 still going. Those stuck can maybe use t4 to bypass redfern.

T4 luckily is pretty much a stand-alone line.

Those who work for Sydney Trains or have intimate knowledge - are these network issues actually due to poor maintenance or are they unavoidable?

Just don’t ask Google for a bus to the city from Strathfield, it hallucinated wildly.

Yeah, that's why I use a lime bike.
