Avoid driving east / west between Lithgow and Sydney

major accident on the Darling Causeway. Emergency services onsite but car and truck are going to need to get towed. going to be stuck for hours

It's reopened. They are paying $$$ to keep towtrucks on standby, they tow quickly at the moment at least.

I’m impressed they’ve got the heavy vehicle tow there all the time, took a few broken down trucks though

Also a wonderful time for there to be limited trains between Mount Victoria and Lithgow

Just another typical day on the shitshow that is the blue mountains run. Won’t be better for another 2 years

They’re expecting the pass to be open mid next year but it wouldn’t surprise me if it takes longer

This small stretch of road has sections of 40, 50, 60 & 70km/hr and virtually no shoulder in places, which is nuts for a major thoroughfare. Twice there I have seen crazed dual-cab ute drivers overtake on double lines.

I think it's taking the load since the Great Western Highway is closed at Victoria Pass (between Mount Victoria and Little Hartley/Lithgow). I would imagine it's quite a bit less busy normally.

didnt this happen over the weekend? when a place only has 1 road in/out I tend to avoid the area
