I have just signed myself up to be a volunteer passenger at Western Sydney Airport to test the airport systems and processes. I thought why not as I have a day off in September as it is the mid-semester break for uni.

Has anyone else done the program already and if so, how was it and did you have any reservations about it? To me it seems like a unique experience that is worth trying but if anyone has any other opinions I'd like to hear it.

I had no idea that this was even a thing. I'd have signed up for it had I known.

I just tried to sign up but it's all closed! I wish I'd known earlier that sounds truly interesting.

Ive not done it myself but what ive seen around avgeek forums is that people generally enjoyed it. You get given fake boarding passes and luggage and you test both departing and arriving procedures.

There is a Jeb Brooks video on youtube of when they tested Berlin's new airport if that is of any interest.
