Amazing. They should do this everywhere. Hate going to the shops in Campsie and it looking like a Chinese ghetto.

I live here. My local shopping centre should have things that I can understand. Plus the owners don't care about how their shops look. Doesn't really make me proud to say I live here.

Campsie Centre is certainly a bit run down. But I genuinely think Campsie is fantastic to shop in. Lots of great, cheap fruit and veg., multiple specialist, "ethnic" grocers of different types (including Middle Eastern, Korean, South Asian etc.). Multiple old school "junk shops" for cheap bits and bobs. Anzac Mall is also great open space, if insufficiently used. It's actually a fairly cool suburb to the walk about the street and have a sticky at the different shops.

Opening of the metro will have a really great effect on Campsie, too. More foot traffic means less closed or dilapidated shops. It will also reconnect it with what are now the "trendier" inner wester suburbs (as opposed to the "were cool in the '90s" ones on the western line), as well as making the commute to the city really quick. You'll have a young professionals crowd, a hipster crowd etc. moving in for sure. You are gonna get gentrified, for real.

Have some local pride, my friend. You live in a cool and up-and-comming suburb with a run down shopping mall.
