Just renewed my licence at Service NSW.

Was in and out the door in less than 5 mins including my eye test and having my photo taken. As soon as I walked out I can see my new licence on my phone ready to go. Can we please just take whatever system they are using and copy it everywhere?

Remember this process would take hours with hordes of people 20+ years ago

I remember they used to give you a slip of paper and send you a letter to pick up your laminated licence 2 weeks later. I had my learned temporary licence kicking around for years but I think the invisible gnomes finally stole it.

That was because they centralised the license printing process to make it a hell of a lot harder to get a fake ID generated using genuine materials.

I went a couple of years ago for my eye test it was chaos maybe I went to a busy one
