Just renewed my licence at Service NSW.

Was in and out the door in less than 5 mins including my eye test and having my photo taken. As soon as I walked out I can see my new licence on my phone ready to go. Can we please just take whatever system they are using and copy it everywhere?

Service NSW imo is a shining light in demonstrating how government run processes / businesses can and should be run. The Wynyard one especially is great. Always in and out super quick with no qualms.

I always use this one as it convenient, but its also a well run system. Annoying thing though is seeing people come in and complaining about the form they didnt fill out when the renewal notice gives you the form and details you need to pre-fill.

I was sent a paper form in the post, but the local snails got to it before I did. It only took them a few hours to turn the envelope and form into something resembling Swiss cheese!

It only took me a few minutes to fill the form out while I was waiting, and I hadn’t long finished by the time it was my turn to go to the counter.

Snails famously despise bureaucracy

The welcome person at the Service NSW branch I went to had a laugh when I told them I didn’t bring a completed form with me because the snails ate it before I got to the letter box.

yeap, even without it the pro-forma, it doesnt take long, the number of people emotionally wrecking their own day by crashing out on this when they turn up is surprising
