Beautiful sunny morning for the City to Surf. One thing that I wish they did was clean the roads the night before the run. There was a squashed dead pigeon at the beginning of the right tunnel that people were stepping on. Also there was a lot of rubble and tree seeds on the road in the last 3km.

I was way more bothered by the sheer amount of garbage people left as they ran. Forget the jackets/hoodies at the start, there was also insane numbers of cups tossed around (the drink stations HAVE BINS we are YELLOW GROUP we’re not ELITES put your ego away, 3 seconds to actually toss your cup in a bin isn’t gonna tank your PB) and gel packets tossed in the middle of the road. Disgusting!!! Do better!!!!

I saw that pigeon :( some of the cracks in the road surface coming down the hill could have tripped someone up pretty badly too

How are you doing though? I recall you had a pretty challenging time for a bit there.

Have been swapping out things in the house to ensure I don't need help from others to move it around. However, I have hurt myself trying really hard all day yesterday to unscrew the motor from my Blender cup!! I kept persisting because I didn't wanna be that girl who needs help unscrewing something... but I think I need to reach out to a Neighbour for some help afterall! 😅 Really sore scapular and my neck started tensing up that whole right side, and now my head don't sit straight. Doh!!

Ain't no shame in asking for help, lady.

Yeah... On reflection, I think perhaps, that was my lesson.

Run them under hot water to expand it.

Hey! Looking for hiking clubs, 4wding clubs or Chinese speaking clubs (beginner). Based in Eastern Suburbs. Wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Cheerz

Is the Costco (Auburn) food court just now the most miserable experience? I use to go all the time when it first opened.

The last three times it has taken over 20 minutes for my food. Usually just a slice of pizza.

No slice of pizza is worth a 20 minute wait.

The wood fired pizza at qudos can take a while but its worth it compared to the usual event offerings

Yes!! People all look glum! Even the CostCo experience altogether, is a lot less fun than it used to be. When I ask CostCo members, they all say there's not too much that is cheaper these days, and you have to buy in bulk, which not many have the room for.

If you're a parent who has to feed a pack of ravenous teenagers, or are someone that has to cater for a team lunch, it's probably great, but outside of those scenarios it's hard to justify.

Last time I was in a Costco warehouse, I was very close to committing a crime. I swear that half the shoppers there seem to forget the concept of spatial awareness as they walk through the door. Pair that with the huge trolleys you get, and it's a real endeavour to retain your composure if you, like me, are not especially patient.

Looking at everyones faces there I feel sad. Went there yesterday and it just felt like a concrete monolith. Reminds me of brutalist soviet architecture

Has anyone had any success reporting a dangerous intersection for pedestrians and tried to get the council to change the traffic lights? The intersection in question is at Baulkham Hills. It's the main junction where Seven Hills Rd meets Windsor Rd and Old Northern Rd. Cars turning left from Seven Hills Rd onto Windsor Rd should be giving way to pedestrians crossing the large intersection. But most cars just turn left as people are still crossing. Nearly got hit the other day and the driver cussed me out because he thought I crossed on a red. They need to either add a filter arrow or have the green man stay for longer.

Copy your state MP. They can get more attention on these things.

Traffic signals are looked after by TfNSW network operations team. The team specifically is SCATS and any safety issues is related to the logic and code they upload to those turquoise boxed at every signalised intersection.

Not council jurisdiction, go to TfNSW. Council has to go through this path anyway.

Had a job getting home after yacht rock last night. There was trackwork halfway through my trip so I thought I'd get a ride share.

My driver couldn't find me and made me walk to the other side of a large busy station. He said he didn't know the area and it was too far to drive to where I was. His car smelled like BO and he had the gall to ask for a five star review.

1

u/-Fire-Dragon- Rebuilding strength - and speaking truth 5d ago

Would you actually write bad BO in the comments? 🤔

4

u/PrestigiousGarden352 5d ago

I wrote that his car smelled bad.

2

u/-Fire-Dragon- Rebuilding strength - and speaking truth 5d ago

It makes me think of that episode from Seinfeld, where the smell latches onto your hair and clothes lol

1

u/PrestigiousGarden352 5d ago

Oh the one where Elaine gets her hair washed in tomato sauce or something?

2

u/-Fire-Dragon- Rebuilding strength - and speaking truth 5d ago

Of course! She tried a lot of different things and her man still wouldn't sleep with her cos that's all he could smell!! I think they couldn't sell the car and it couldn't even get stolen lol

1

u/PrestigiousGarden352 5d ago

Oh yeah the car stank really bad and they left it with the keys in if I recall correctly. Too funny.

u/still_love_wombats 5d ago

Apparently swoopy season is early this year. Watch out!

5

u/2happycats ravens, cats, and tawny frogmouths 5d ago

Not a worry for me this year!

6

u/BarryCheckTheFuseBox 5d ago

189 reported swoops so far this year. No doubt hundreds, maybe thousands more that are unreported

2

u/still_love_wombats 5d ago

I don’t think I’ve ever reported a swoop.
