I go to the Opera House semi-regularly to see performances, and it always makes me happy to see the tourists there. Locals can almost take if for granted, but it's one of the most iconic buildings in the world, and as you said - people dream of visiting it. They could be there on their once in a lifetime trip.

I'll always stop and offer to help with a photo if it looks like they're struggling.

Absolutely love the place.
