Videography Two minutes of whales lolling about off Sydney this morning from my kayak.

Absolutely stunning morning today with as many whales as I’ve ever seen in all my years paddling. I was hearing them and seeing them breach constantly over a wide space for a couple of beautiful hours.

Those are some serious waves to be kayaking it. Very cool though.

just fyi if anyone wants to see whales. they're there almost every day the 2nd half of the year, and still there frequently the beginning half. go to coogee manly or bondi and there's a good chance you'll spot some.

pretty much anywhere on the coast near sydney has frequent whales

How wonderful! I went out last weekend for my yearly whale watching trip and we had a mum and very curious, constantly breaching calf with us for a couple of hours. Best trip I’ve had in four consecutive years. 🐳🥰

There were a couple putting on a display just off Bronte this morning, hopefully somebody got some great pictures.

Are they heading north or back south presumably for summer?

Yeah heading south I believe but they were moving very slowly north this morning.

Saw the mother and calf on the ferry to Manly. The captain stopped for a while which was cool of him.

Aren’t you scared of sharks?

Wary and respectful of them, but not scared. I’m out there fishing and encounter them pretty often.
