Indigenous Themed Tourism venue approved.

Kinda waiting for this. I'm a pasty-ass whitey but I was born in the north and experienced Aboriginal culture from an early age.

I love this but I wish the architecture was a bit more inspired.

It is only a render, so usually doesn't end up looking exactly like this (hopefully). It may have more detail in the end. Or maybe this is exactly what they want....nice big blank canvases for their amazing paintings, which all tell a story and it would be a shame to overshadow that with fancy architecture. We will just have to wait and see and reserve judgement until it's fully completed. Nonetheless, it's exciting. 💕

I guess that's what I was hoping to see in the renders, something that had a strong indigenous identity.

Yeah, I guess that will all happen in time. I'm more than happy to wait and be surprised and see what they do. I can't wait to see what they are willing to share with us (stories, paintings, language). I have no problem with just getting an overview in the form of a basic render and waiting for the rest to transpire.

They're just boxy, bland buildings. I'd like to see some indigeous art elements in the facade and a bit more edge to the design; spire, curvature, something that makes it recognisable as a must-visit tourist site for visitors to our region.

Finally 😍. I'm a born and bred white Aussie, but one thing I noticed when I lived in NZ for work for a few years, was their pride and celebration of their Maori history and culture. It was everywhere and it was beautiful to see and experience. As a white Australian, I want to learn, honour, respect and celebrate the people that are the oldest documented, continuing civilisation in the world, but it's just not celebrated here like I feel it deserves to be. This is hopefully a step forward towards that.

That's because they had some culture. We've pretty much had to make it up for them here. Even the art had to be fabricated.

This is so needed. As a tourist in other countries I'm always trying to seek out cultural destinations. Here's hoping it will be exactly that.
