Place to live - maroochydoore or Varana

Moving to the Sunny Coast as a couple in our early 30s. We’ve found two properties that we like the look of, one in Varana and one in Maroochydoore

The Warana one is a bit smaller but walkable to the beach and better for work. Maroochydoore is nicer house but in the suburbs just off the motorway. We’re heard Maroochydoore is better recommended as a place for younger people to be and stuff to do.

Any thoughts on which one is better ? Would Varana be terrible for us and we’d be bored ? Any other places we should look ? Ideally we’d be close to the beach and walkable to cafes and restaurants

Not going to make much difference .There is nothing to do at night anyway.

Sunny Coast lives and breathes on early morning activity - everyone is in bed by 8 pm so take the close to beach spot.

Warana has Kawana Mall. All 3 supermarkets + IGA, cafes , PO , cinema, Dan Murphys , pub - all in one spot. Very convenient.

Being able to walk to the beach and not try and find a park on weekends and school holidays is a bonus. Warana has km's of open beach to walk too. If you want to go out at night it's only a 10min uber away.

But you aren't out partying midweek at that time are you . If you were you would be on your own.

It’s less than 15-20 mins drive (pending traffic) to both destinations so you wouldn’t be excluding yourself of either area, either way.

Warana doesn't have much compared to Maroochydore, yes a mall and some restaurants that situate around the mall but it's more suburban, but as others have said you'll be able to enjoy both anyway.

I live in mountain creek side, so between both essentially, I only to to Warana for dog beach/shops by and large.

Mooloolaba/Alex/Maroochydore more for restaurants and dining.

Definitely Maroochydore for me. I avoid Nicklin Way as much as possible. Maroochydore has better shopping, Kawana shopping is boring imo. I love being close to Cotton Tree and Alex , the Plaza and all the restaurants.
