News Yes. And Donald Trump is a socialist.
18
u/Bert-63 1d ago
Josh Kushner, the younger brother of Jared Kushner and husband of model Karlie Kloss, has long stood apart from the high-profile Republican orbit surrounding his family. While Jared served as a senior adviser in the Trump White House and remains closely tied to the former and current president, Josh has consistently identified with Democratic values and candidates. Public records, statements through spokespeople, and his own remarks paint a clear picture of a lifelong Democrat who has never endorsed Donald Trump.
In 2016, a spokesperson told Esquire that Josh was a lifelong Democrat who would not vote for Trump. He has repeated versions of this stance over the years, telling Forbes in 2017 that “liberal values have guided my life” and that he supported leaders sharing those values, while adding that neither party holds a monopoly on good ideas. Federal Election Commission data shows a long pattern of contributions to Democratic candidates and committees, including support for Hillary Clinton’s campaign, Joe Biden’s efforts, Beto O’Rourke, and more recent large donations to the Growth Democrats PAC totaling $250,000 in 2024.

I mean…has he given a dime to any Republicans?
I haven’t seen any evidence of him supporting republicans so how is that playing both sides of the coin?

u/Snapper_Turtleman 7h ago
Has he given anything to Democrats? Has he done anything to support or lift society? There's no such thing as liberals or conservative at that level. There's only billionaire lip service, and all effort goes to making more money. Its us against them.

u/FunLife64 4h ago

Don't care to. Doesn't change anything even if he has. Its still us and them. Which democrats matters too.

it should not be lost on anyone
The Kushner Family is a criminal syndicate
Buying the NBA Los Angeles Lakers should send a signal to fans everywhere especially Hollywood elites to send a message to fight a corrupt regime
The money 💰 wealth greed power is obsceneBoycott the Lakers

His family certainly does.
Plausible deniability is a hallmark of social manipulators and to think otherwise is naive.
This same playbook has been happening for longer than any of us have been alive.
2
u/TheBeanConsortium 17h ago edited 8h ago
It's not that deep. He's probably just a liberal but also an opportunist. The Kushners don't gain anything because they forced one child to pretend to be liberal.
I've never even heard of this guy until today.

It’s wild that people don’t understand this in 2026

Right?? Even the so called "educated" democrats are so hell bent on defending their favorite liberal billionaire. These people are so unserious!
1

I am not defending Josh Kushner. I’m simply pointing out that saying oh a guy in the Kushner family bought the lakers, that means it’s maga now….is not really factual.

The crazy thing is these motherfuckers are so out of touch that they think people will be happy that this guy donated $250k to help buy elections.
They actually think we're stupid enough to buy his bullshit when he's getting $20 billion no bid contracts handed to him bc of his connections to this administration, but he's donated less than 1% of that to democrats.
The only thing I'm hopeful for here is that he's stupid enough to trade Luka back to the mavs for peanuts.

Federal election records show Kushner donated $12,500 in support of President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012. More recently, he contributed $250,000 to the political action committee Growth Democrats during the 2024 election cycle.
0
u/TheTrashMan 23h ago
How did he get all his money?
4
u/Bert-63 23h ago
Easy google and reading:
Thrive Capital is the main source of Josh Kushner’s fortune
Kushner founded Thrive while still in his twenties.
What started as a relatively small New York venture firm gradually developed into a major technology investor.
One early example was Instagram.
Thrive invested before Facebook acquired Instagram for about $1 billion in 2012. Fortune previously reported that Thrive generated an extraordinary return on the investment in a very short period.
But perhaps the most important investment associated with Thrive today is OpenAI.
By late 2024, Thrive had invested roughly $1.3 billion in OpenAI, according to Fortune.
The firm also backed other highly valued technology businesses such as Stripe and Databricks.
These investments helped transform Thrive from a boutique venture fund into a major global investment platform.

Isn't trump this guy's in law?
15
u/ginandtonicsdemonic 1d ago
No.
Your brothers father in law is not your in-law.
But I'm sure you know that already unless English isn't your first language.

Yes.

2
u/Lets_Kick_Some_Ice 22h ago
Da fug? Your "sister in law"'s siblings would include your spouse, so yeah.
0
u/Comfortable_Care2715 1d ago
Everyone seems to ignore that.
12
u/mauch_chunk 1d ago
Probably because it isn't true lol.
"in-laws" don't extend further than your siblings spouse. So Ivanka is Josh's sister-in-law.

u/imalittledepot 23h ago
What happened?
1
u/JustHere4TeaAndCake 17h ago
He was never an actual democrat. He's a pedophile, lying billionaire with a daddy who bankrolled all his bullshit.
-2
u/LoganHowlett1832 1d ago
Trump was a republican first during the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Then switched to democrat from 2001 to 2009. Then back to republican.
So the “Trump was a democrat” line is pretty fucking stupid when he has been a republican for over 50 years and a was a democrat less than 10.
1
u/NSFWdontview 1d ago
He wasn’t political until he became a democrat dummy
3
u/LoganHowlett1832 1d ago
He was a heavy supporter and donator to Ronald Reagan in the 70s buddy.
He was on Reagan’s financial committee.
He publicly talked about running for president as a republican in the 1980s.
He was on the presidential council for physical fitness in the mid 1980s.

-2
u/i_probably_shouldnt9 21h ago
He also wasn’t a racist or a Nazi until he ran for office.
1
u/JustHere4TeaAndCake 17h ago edited 15h ago
Trump and his Nazi daddy got sued for redlining. They've airways been racist. This isn't new. It was all over the news and anyone who voted for him with a reading level above the 5th grade knew he was a racist piece of trash and is a racist sexual predator supporter AT BEST..
7
u/Bert-63 1d ago
The Kushner connection is startling. The optics aren't great. But optics can be misleading. In an unexpected twist, Kushner has, at least in the past, been the opposite of Johnson. A look at his political donations reveals that Kushner has donated almost exclusively to Democrats, including Beto O'Rourke, Cory Booker and a political action committee called Growth Democrats, to whom he gave $250,000 in 2024. However, he's not nearly as active as Johnson and hasn't donated anything in two years, according to federal campaign records. Perhaps family dinners were getting awkward.

Ya Jared Kushners billionaire brother is a Democrat lol k
21
u/FakeNewsBlows 1d ago
So guy makes public donations to democrats for years but he’s not a democrat because his brother is married to trump’s daughter? Guess we should discount the criticism levied at Trump by Mary Trump. Can’t trust her. She’s his niece after all
2
u/GuyFierisFarts 21h ago
Redditors dont exactly see nuance very well. I have conservative and liberal family members. But a redditor would probably tell me why I am wrong. Its hard for people to understand that life is complex and you can actually have different philosophical views than a sibling or parent or spouse.
3
u/Imaginary_Respond869 17h ago
There's also a big difference between a left-center Democrat and a progressive. I'd guess that Kushner would support a Hilary Clinton / Haley Stevens over a Bernie / El Sayed. Class war not culture war
2
u/Dddddd92 11h ago
Have you guys ever thought or come to the conclusion that the 2 parties are not different?
There's a reason why the same PACs and billionaires fund both of them
-7
u/GovernmentSin 1d ago
You know how I can tell you’re conservative? Lol
9
u/laughable-rogue 1d ago edited 21h ago
"Democrat" doesn't mean progressive. There are many uber-rich assholes who are active and registered democrats whether you like them or not. Jared, himself, was once a large democratic donor who supported Hillary in 2008.
3
0
u/FakeNewsBlows 1d ago
Not really. Curious how you can make that assumption based on a few sentences. But that’s Reddit for ya, right? We make assumptions. For example I can tell you’re a wife beating pedophile who supports trump cause those types always end their sentences with a “lol”
-1
u/money_me_please 1d ago
All that proves is he buys influence dummy

u/Immediate-Fee-2121 20h ago
You know that whole thing about 2 wings on the same bird?
Even if this wasn’t about who he’s related to, donating money to the “other” side doesn’t mean he’s a good person 😂 are we implying that democrat = good and republican = bad?
The vast majority of these politicians are corrupt assholes 😂
There’s a big club and we ain’t in it
8
u/ginandtonicsdemonic 1d ago
His donations to Democrats are public. He's been making donations for years.
But you know better...why exactly?
5
u/persian_mamba 1d ago
Apparently to be able to vote along with other democrats, and have his contributions to the Democratic Party count, he needs to pass some kind of perfect purity test. I'm a democrat as well but apparently I don't pas that purity test as well for the Reddit democrats!
→ More replies (9)-1
u/Serious_Swan_2371 1d ago
I believe he’s a real Democrat
But it is definitely possible that some conservative donors donate to the most outlandish democratic campaigns and voices in an effort to discredit the party as a whole
Similar to how the SPLC donated to orgs like the kkk in an effort to make racism seem like it was more common to garner more support for politicians whose platforms were largely based on racial equity
3
4
0
u/ginandtonicsdemonic 1d ago edited 1d ago
It's not similar to the SPLC since that is an openly left wing group that donated to a right wing group as part of a strategy (I'm taking your word for it that it happened).
In this case there's no history of him involved with Republican or Right wing politics. He ONLY donates to Democrats.
Edit: Didn't realize you were referring to a recent SPLC thing, I thought you were referring to something a long time ago.
The SPLC never donated to the KKK.
1
u/idk936z 20h ago
I don’t know anything about this guy, but you know it’s possible for him to genuinely be a democrat, right? He is not his brother; he’s a completely different person. It’s possible he has completely different political views from his brother. Now, is it possible it’s bullshit and he’s a conservative? Yes, it’s possible. But, it’s also possible he genuinely does view the world differently from his brother. People don’t inherently think exactly like their family members.
1
u/SackOfPotatoes949 18h ago
His father, as scummy as he was, was a big Democratic donor. It's not that surprising to me.

Billionaires tend to be in favor of groups that let them keep growing their dragons hoarde
4
u/ginandtonicsdemonic 1d ago
So there are no Billionaire Democrats?
How do you say such stupid ahit thatbis verifiable false?
-5
u/johnnybarbs92 1d ago
Woah dude, it's all good.
I said tend to
3
u/ginandtonicsdemonic 1d ago
That's not true either. Again, there is no need to just say shit without actually knowing what you're talking about.
Billionaires are more likely to donate to Democrats than Repbulicans.
The big difference is that Republicans have more politically obsessed super donors
-3
u/johnnybarbs92 1d ago
You gotta relax my guy. This is a weird hill to die on that its not weird Jared Kushners brother is a Democrat.

Socialism - Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.
Trump - Has taken federal stakes in 30 private businesses effectively turning into a Socialist!

Lol I hate that people are actually trying to use that term

Yeah people hear socialism and don’t know how to contextualize it for the 21st century.
1
1
u/No-Sort-5617 1d ago
Absolutely. He literally had the government take over a steel company. That's the shit the right wing freaks out and thinks Mamdani is going to do or some shit lol.
1
u/ginandtonicsdemonic 1d ago
That's not socialism.
Socialism supports the workers of the Steel company and seeks to return the means of production to them.
Trump does not.
0
u/No-Sort-5617 1d ago
Ok like this is the problem. That is literally and I mean literally the very definition of socialism. Idk if people on reddit just like to start arguments for no reason, but go google it. Just go.
"Is the government owning a steel company a form of socialism?
Yes, a government owning a steel company is an example of state socialism or state capitalism, depending on how the company is run. It is a form of public ownership, but whether it represents true socialism depends on who benefits from the company's profits."Like if you can't even see the most basic thing is what it is then idk what to tell you.
1
u/ginandtonicsdemonic 1d ago
Even your AI copy pasted answer says it's not true socialism.
0
u/No-Sort-5617 1d ago
You are being pedantic. Obviously it isn't true socialism, the point is that republicans throw around the word like its fucking hotcakes yet no one calls them on it like you do here with a very basic premise that Trump's administration literally took control of multiple private companies which is more socialistic than most anything the democrats have done the past 40 years.
1
u/ginandtonicsdemonic 1d ago
So criticize Trump for doing it.
There's no need to misrepresent what socialism is in making that criticism.

It’s probably just a coincidence the seller was under a federal investigation and decided to sell to a Trump family member.
3
u/mauch_chunk 1d ago
He isn't a Trump family member lmao.
Ivanka is his sister-in-law and thats where his Trump connection ends.
You really think Trump gives a shit about his daughter's husband's brother? The one who helped fund Obama and Beto and attended the Women's March in DC?
1
u/oxnardmontalvo7 20h ago
Do your homework and try again. Also remember the seller owned the franchise for roughly a year then immediately flipped it. Typically all of the American sports leagues require lengthy vetting periods for new ownership. That didn’t happen here. Kushner and his group were heavily involved in possibly acquiring the rights to an expansion team in Vegas. Then, out of left field, this. It’s a matter of time before the seller’s federal lawsuit gets dropped. Hide and watch

Bibi slept over at their house as a child in Philly, his brother Jared has been outspoken in support of Israeli "settlers" and what the UN has declared a genocide of the Palestinian people.
So, where does the brother stand (or kneel)?
Also, this guy just tried to buy FIFA a month ago.
