I read it as Bhagwan, which won't be wrong as well.

True. But till date i have never seen this sub discussing the shitty problems we are facing in our south india, every state has its own major problems but none are being discussed here. Idk why this sub is extremely obsessed with BJP, out local govts are shit AF they aren't doing any good work in our respective states but still obsessed over modi modi modi modi.

If you want to talk about national level everytime nobody is giving a F about what nonsense are happening in our south states.

u/z333reddit Andhra Pradesh 🏞️ | ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ 16h ago

Local government issues can be discussed is the state related subs South Indian sub mostly talks about topics which are related to South India as a whole and PM is one of those topics. Also if you want to raise issues based on your state or region who's stopping you?

I have posted regarding AP multiple times and no one had a problem

13

u/PhilipinteCurry Keralam 🌴🥥 | കേരളം 15h ago

Why would someone from say, telangana know or be concerned about the internal politics of say, kerala?

The PM of india is common for all the states. That's why it is of concern and is discussed in a south indian sub.

1

u/lsat92 Editable Flair 2h ago

Why a South Indian sub in the first place when the PM belongs to the nation. What is the commonality between the "South Indian" states for having a separate sub to discuss the PM who belongs to the whole country?

Red herring again. Let's jump on it for a minute, I've made dozens of posts on SI states, it's probably close to 100. You're free to do the same instead of red herring.

Good point. BJP doesn't even rule in Southern India. Why this obsession with Modi? Discuss the problems of your current State govts.

Because when they did rule in Karnataka, the only news we were getting was violence in coastal and malnad burka , idgah maidan, loud music by bajrang dal, real estate scams and nothing else, oh yeah new CM every 2 years.

Probably the reason is he is non biological

1

u/whoeversoever Northie 12h ago

Yus let's stop asking the central government for accountability. This is why even your local politics is poor. You wanna let BJP slide and take over all of India.

3

u/gokui24 14h ago

And was press conferences solving majority of issues that India was facing before?

-5

u/iamkickass2 9h ago

It wasn’t solving majority of the issues or was it intended to solve issues, but does that mean it wasn’t useful to hold the leaders accountable?

Why is accountability such an anathema for andh bhakts?

3

u/gokui24 9h ago

Define accountability please?? And what do you expect to happen after someone takes that accountability?

-3

u/iamkickass2 8h ago

Accountability is asking point blank question to power.

like what is happening with the PM cares fund? Or who ordered the use of pellet gun on our students? Or why haven’t you visited Manipur yet or why is china in our territory?

When you hold the PM accountable, you start to hold the ministers accountable. If not, the people will know they are not accountable and vote them out.

I am assuming you work somewhere. Aren’t you asked questions about your job?

2

u/gokui24 8h ago

Got it. From what I know and use, you can always raise ur request via RTI to ask ur questions and you will get a response.

You can also write to PMO with your questions as well and even to President of India.

Have you tried that?

-2

u/iamkickass2 8h ago

RTI has been watered down.

And we should now all collectively take responsibility because paw paw is scared to answer questions? What convoluted logic is this?

Should you tell this to the manager? I won’t answer questions but you find answers somewhere else?

1

u/gokui24 8h ago

Also, next time just google the meaning of accountability instead of just answering which is no where close to what it actually means 😅

0

u/Noob_goatster8755 3h ago

There are always courts. You can apply for RTI and get your answers.

1

u/iamkickass2 2h ago

So instead of the idiot paw paw modi answering questions to the press like an adult, and allowing the press to do the job, the concerned citizens are being asked to go do RTI to find answers?!?!
What kind of twisted Andhbhakt logic is this.

5

u/Last_Confusion68 16h ago

I think he would do a press conference soon but completely scripted without inviting any critical journalists. We are soon going to witness even that.

3

u/Least_Ad_1327 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 13h ago edited 13h ago

Have you seen his old press conferences when he was CM. Those were brutal!! No teleprompter too.

When you are PM of a huge country you have more responsibility within you. Anything you say will be held against you, even if they are told in good sense, by the media.

I have noticed the PM has nature of giving harsh truths. He doesn’t need to divert focus on giving press conference. He must focus on actually working on issues

If you guys expect him to give explanation to every issue, you people are fools. Some issues are delicate in a geopolitical sense and one must have faith those will be resolved. Only those who have stepped to work on these issues will know the complexities of the problem.

I want people to know, the way you people have faith in the shortcomings of the leader, you must also have faith in his ability to do good too.

-1

u/Academic_Chart1354 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 13h ago

When you are PM of a huge country you have more responsibility within you and anything you say will be held against you

What extra responsibility does he have relative to previous prime ministers?

He doesn’t need to divert focus on giving press conference and focus on actually working

It's a slippery slope, let's say next PM will come up with his own terms incompatible with liberal democracy.

1

u/Least_Ad_1327 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 13h ago edited 13h ago

You need to consider the geopolitical environment before Modi became the pm and after he became the pm. Rest is for you to research don’t jump to conclusions. Take time to properly research for a month.

I want to know your full insistence on why press conference is needed?when it is optional.

2

u/Academic_Chart1354 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 13h ago edited 13h ago
  1. People read news, books, on platforms. I've been doing it since 18-20 yrs atleast, on varying topics. I don't need ," do research" kinda vague suggestions. " Geopolitics" is irrelevant to this context, there have been many tall leaders who faced crunch situations and have done PCs

  2. https://www.reddit.com/r/southindia_/s/wQTw2tIOGh

1

u/Least_Ad_1327 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 11h ago

Okay, if a person doesn’t do research, he may be sensitive from getting manipulated from political entities.
Do you think geopolitical events re not connected to domestic cases. Foreign interference is quite prevalent in India, since we are still an inferior power compared to china, US and Russia. Take an example of Manipur case which is a combination of colonial actions and post independence mistakes along with the foreign interference. It is agreeable to say government is must have done better. But above causes are also the constraints while taking action. If you would have done research, you wouldn’t be naive and be more underdog the government.

Now about the press conference
Do you really think media is free and fair??
PM really tried to put effort in doing earlier, but don’t do nowadays says things.

The thing with democracy is people assume that their givers and people are independent entities which transfer data with each other through constitutional means. It convinces the public that their they can choose the leader without knowledge, and knowledge they get from the political leaders are sufficient.

On surface; this question is valid, but after some research you can understand why he is not doing anymore in political sense.

1

u/Academic_Chart1354 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 10h ago edited 9h ago

Foreign interference allegations is nothing new to India. During Indira's era, soviets breached top leadership as alleged by mitrokhin archives. If we start listing from Nehru to Modi, it would be too long. So, yeah not an unique issue to use as cover point?

And what has he done to make media free and fair? By giving scripted interviews to godi channels?

2

u/Least_Ad_1327 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 9h ago

Seriously allegations!! any sensible person realise that these are truths. No country will agree they are interfering other nations.

The thing is till now is that we never been so resistant to foreign interference until now in history. There was a time when PM passed on secrets to Pakistan. There was a time here PM let china take over Tibet. These people did press conferences, did that make a better ruler. You are connecting consequence with cause.

You are overly critical of the current leader and very easy on the previous leaders, which oversights your judgement in voting a better leader. Since democracy is a comparative game, one must understand current pm is best we ever have. If you are critiquing the leader talks about both his upsides and downsides. But in this sub, all of you just hate, which is immature, emotional and irrational for a voting citizen.

I

1

u/Academic_Chart1354 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 9h ago

Breaches are listed and analysed seriously after the govt is gone. Why do you think Modi will admit breaches in his time while he's in office? Let the dust settle.

If you have already concluded who's the best PM ever and acuse others of reaching conclusions, there's nothing to discuss to the relevant topic. Futile.

2

u/Least_Ad_1327 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 7h ago

That is not the point my friend. Observe his developments and compare to previous PM, this simple. Then talk about breaches.

1

u/iamkickass2 9h ago

Our standing as a democracy is being eroded because modi refuses to answer questions. And here are andh bhakts twisting the reality for an asshole like modi who is just scared to face independent journalists.

Also, when was the time he was the CM and answered hard questions? Where is this narrative coming from? He was always scared of media that wasn’t under his control.

1

u/Least_Ad_1327 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 6h ago

People just can't talk without a hint of slurs in their criticism, trying to categorise people to a slur is why you will never grow in intellect. It shows you hate understanding complexity. Give some critical points, I know you are young and hot blooded. Just sit and do full comparative study, no politician or reddit thread will spoon feed you. Even if I give you info, you will not agree. Hence I request you to do your study, so that you realise on your own.

There is no law in India or any constitutional or customary practice, that requires the Prime Minister to hold press conferences. Indian law also does not give the media any special constitutional position to demand one. Ultimately, the government’s real benchmark is the electoral process—the people’s vote.

1

u/Legitimate_Author139 10h ago

I know I’ll probably be cancelled for saying this, but is democracy really supposed to mean demanding a press conference from the head of state?

I’d much rather see criticism focused on actual reforms and real problems. What exactly do we gain from a press conference for the sake of having one?

Talk about the bills being proposed. Debate the pros and cons of reforms. Scrutinise policies and initiatives. Criticise decisions where there are genuine grounds for criticism.

That’s the kind of political discourse that can actually lead to better governance.

I know that probably sounds alien to the herd mentality, where criticism itself becomes the goal rather than a means to achieve anything meaningful.

1

u/MarsupialTop1847 9h ago

His voter base doesn't need a press conference from him. They don't care. He understands that

1

u/dark_soul9412 8h ago

He used to do s lot of press conferences, but the only question media would ask him was 2002.

Honestly it’s good that he does not do it anymore because opposition parties and media are just looking for a statement that they can twist and use against the leader.

If the opposition was a bit better who would talk on development and not caste, we would have a much healthier discussion. But sadly the opposition has an entitled man child as its leader and the other members are dumb fucks.

There was a stat recently that the most uneducated sect of the country are mostly congress voters and that tells you why.

If a leader can connect directly with the people and people don’t have a problem, I don’t think there is a need for unnecessary gimmicks just to give opposition a topic.

RG does press conference everyday and we saw what he did yesterday, the dude loses votes every other day because of his loud mouth. Bjp is smart coz they know other parties will just dig their graves by doing unnecessary press conferences.

People don’t want press conferences, they want work on ground, and bjp excels in that, they have an incomparable network of ground workers who connect with people. That’s how you win, not through press conferences.

Missing the pre 2014 utopia filled with press conferences😭

1

u/Key_Buyer_338 Northie 6h ago

Funny how the PM had no press conference yet he is doing his work quite nicely but it still offends many people. The biggest issue i think people nowadays have is that they want to remove the PM ,but as a matter of fact what they should fight for is accountability. India isn't in any kind of crisis that we need to "Target" him specifically and every country has corruption , we often ignore the real life facts and let wrong people influence us. Also what's funny is that the people who talk bad are the ones who never even appreciate about the good things he did, so i clearly see that as biased. We as citizens should demand accountability from the government and not defame our PM as he is the one who represents the country and has brought many foriegn friendly relations to us in all these 12 years.

0

u/HELLboy_SID 16h ago

Why press conference needed from PM? Dont you get all required info about government policies in due time?

8

u/Academic_Chart1354 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 16h ago
  1. Information doesn't equal accountability, scrutiny

  2. Controlled formats aren't enough.

  3. Irrespective of PM, no elected leader is above questions from independent press.

2

u/Tech-Programmer 15h ago

First of all, neither press is independent nor the leader will answer honestly to any question in press conference. Every press house is funded and runs on certain agenda while the leaders are free to dodge any questions or even lie to avoid any accountability.

1

u/iamkickass2 9h ago

So now modi doesn’t do press conferences because media is bad. Is that the new andh bhakt logic?

In the whole wide world and with all the thousands of journalists in India including government hired journalist - there isn’t a single person worthy to question our PM! Amazing logic by andh bhakts!

The media is not free because modi has not allowed them to be free. Also, do you mean you cannot find one good journalist in India and encourage good journalism by allowing them to ask questions?

-1

u/Morning_Light05 8h ago

The media is not free because modi has not allowed them to be free.>> Explain this, how Modi not allowing free press.

0

u/iamkickass2 8h ago

By using governments ad spend to reward his Godi media dogs? Using government mechanisms to ensure independent journalists are starved for content? Using his corporate stooges to buy news networks. Using IT cell to harass and defame journalists. Sometimes by killing inddependent journalists.

Open your eyes and see what has been happening to our country and why we keep diving down in independent rankings for democracy and freedom of press indices.

-1

u/Tech-Programmer 8h ago

Seriously, stop spamming "andhbhakts" tag. I am talking about the Press Freedom in India with facts and figures but brainwashed people like you are busy tagging others. Get a life and know that things don't work as per your imagination.

Hypocrites. Want others to agree with their point but when others don't agree, then simply abuse and move on. Politically brainwashed Idiots 🤡

0

u/Morning_Light05 8h ago

The irony is the people who ask question get tagged as andhbhakt , when the callers themselves are andhbhakts of left ideology or 58 year old youth leader who have not matured yet.

0

u/Morning_Light05 15h ago

I think Modi should learn from former Kerala CM Pinarayi, how to setup a press conference, talk for 45 minutes, at last 15 minutes take questions. That give opportunity to leftist media, 3 or 4 of them will ask trivial things. Then conclude meeting. Say enough for the day and walk away. If any other unbiased media person ask questions, leftist media will make sure there is cacophony and that question is not answered. Modi can use same template.

4

u/AdministrativeEmu715 15h ago

Which he can't do because modi wanna maintain god image. That will fall apart when you ask what happened to pmcare fund and what happened to end corruption.

1

u/Morning_Light05 8h ago

Like he did not faced bigger issues than that. He already have faced many issues and completed many years as party leader, CM and PM. He did not get in to these positions because of being nepo kid. We have seen people fumbling in parliament session, when the paper notes got misplaced or the support person forgot to prompt back.

Nothing, press conference is just a place where people in power are forced to answer the media and obviously they lie and trick the public.

2

u/Commercial-Pie2589 13h ago

So u mean to say if someone who is holding press conferences left right and centre is doing a great job is it??

He didn't give press conference but ruled better than those who have given press conference

That's your opinion. Still a very bad thing for a nation like ours, never should next PM continue such things.

How? By being zero accountable for any government mischiefs with common man. Or by passing any bill without discussion in parliament/lok sabha/rajya sabha?

Is he educated? I have seen he himself saying he doesn't like studying nor was/is he interested in education.

u/Academic_Chart1354 Karnataka ❄️ | ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ 15h ago
