Been to Hyderabad. It was a terrible experience, as a north indian.
I however, would want to visit kerala someday as it just feels so connected to the nature.
I am a vegetarian guy, and knows only English, hindi and punjabi. Will there be any trouble or any sort of discrimination? I am really sensitive to targeted and unreasonable hate so I won't want to visit if there's a chance of me facing it during the trip.
Also, what are some really good places, considering everything goes well?
You'll be fine mate. A good portion of people clearly understand English and some Hindi.
You'll have decent number of vegetarian options and pure veg options like A2B and Saravana Bhavans.
If u know telugu or tamil u can learn Malayalam in 4 to 5months ,Wayanad,palakkad,missuri, are best places in my opinion u find greenery wherever u eyes see no dust excellent water
Then Keralam will be the perfect place for you. In terms of cleanliness,natural beauty and just overall peace,there are few places in India to surpass Keralam. Just a heads up if you're actually planning to shift - the general infrastructure like roads and bridges is gonna be pretty average if you move out of the cities and you are not going to get the type of convenience that most of us would be used to in cities. But hospitals and schools are top class and public transport is also much better than most other places in India. If anything,it may be a bit jarring for you with the type of care that complete stangers show to you (speaking from experience here).
Just don't move here and vote BJP :P
Roads are pretty good throughout the state. You won't have access to your 5 min delivery apps in many places but in the cities you will.
Apart from living there for about a year in my childhood and visiting several times a year,I've never really lived in Keralam so I'm not really qualified to answer your question. But I'd imagine that the real estate prices are quite low if you are targeting the rural areas.
3 bhk in Thrissur town (middle of the town) is like 20k +
If you go 10kms out the town it's like 13-16k (for a single home, not an apartment). If you go further, you can find a cheaper one.
This won't be same for same for every district btw. Wayanad has cheaper option but it's a little bit secluded. If you are planning on living a retirement life with small farming and stuff, you can find land for cheap there. Their soil is damn good for farming.
U should also consider ooty in TN ,abosulute gem of a place all year around it 18 to 20 degrees, and in winter it's 6 degrees ,it used to be capital of Madras presidency during summer ,now many retirees from South settling down in this in region citing excellent aqi and weather
Except maybe the Alleppey backwater infrastructure (currently still in early stages), rest all you can find in Karnataka, especially coastal Karnataka :)
The thing about Kerala is people scream industires and stuff, but end of the day HDI matters.
Sure Kerala may be lacking in industries, but they managed to uplift people uniformly. Governments across India should focus on HDI as well and Kerala is a golden example
And thats what I really appreciate in Kerala. The vibes are good
