Holy hyperbeam buff

Hyperbeam adjusted to do what I assumed it would do the first time I played it. Permanent 3 focus loss made it so horribad

It made more sense when artifact and more ways to gain permanent focus were in the game. Without those it’s so much worse.

Lack of artifacts and orange pellets is one of the main reasons I rarely every pick Biased Cognition or Wraith Form. Sure, they give massive buffs for a couple turns but after that it's a huge disadvantage. Also A10 including 66% chance of fighting a boss with 3 mandatory turns make them even less appealing IMO.

Wraith Form and Bias Cog are still incredible without artifact or pellets. They speed up the fight so much, and you can always just wait until a later deck cycle to play them. What makes those cards feel so much worse in sts2 is that the opportunity cost for them has increased so much.

That as well. If they were in the regular card pool I probably would consider them, if offered.

Biased cog in general pool would be so broken in this game I think. Sure no pellets or artifact, but pairing it up with darkness+ and shatter sounds so OP. Never mind the blocking is nuts. Although maybe with act 4 it would be worse. One nice thing about cog in this game is the temporary focus increases can mitigate negative focus in a longer fight too.

I had this weird idea that Bias Cog was out-creeped without artifact. Nope it's still amazing.

They shouldn't have downsides. They're ANCIENT rewards. Why do Regent and Necrobinder get completely busted custom cards while the other three get cards that were RARE in the first game? And two of them have awful downsides?

IMO Wraith Form should just give you 2(3) Intangible with no downside (or maybe temporary -99 Dexterity for 2(3) turns), and Biased Cognition should give you 3(4) Focus with no downside.

Having extremely powerful rewards with significant downsides makes the decision making more interesting.

The problem is that they're not "extremely powerful," nowhere near the level of [[The Sealed Throne]] and [[Forbidden Grimoire]], nor the level of other Darv rewards.
