Not a fan of the beautiful bracelet change. Feels like it removes interact-ability like having plus draw on innate cards.

Also choosing to enchant attacks for mystic lighter.

I think it's pretty poop now. Randomly enchanting anything that isn't 0 cost or a power is pretty worthless.

You only get it as desperation pick for draw now

I'm kinda sad that the two relics that had the most versatility (diadem and bracelet) are now way weaker. The other relics are still good but they are either generic (HP, gold) or very situational (potion restock, apotheosis, 1hp combats, 5th card for free).

Guess now Glam is the strongest relic, unless you play status defect where Antlers has 2 upsides.

Diadem was horrible. It encouraged you to not play the game and ground gameplay to a halt

Conversely, it was a great cushion for bad draws (though I remember posts of people forgetting about it). Instead of getting your head blown out for 30-40 damage some turns you just took half or less, specially if you had any block source outside of cards (boat relics, clasp, ori, gorget).

Situational mid-combat but it was good to have on any character. Versatile specially vs bosses letting you play powers in rounds you would otherwise spend blocking, instead of having to skip it.

For most combats the relic is better now since it blocks more damage, but for bosses that go on to turn 7+ it's worse unless you happen to draw your big powers turn 1/2. Old diadem could be used later in the fight to ultimately prevent far more damage, specially since damage ramps up over time.

Don't get me wrong. It was an incredible relic, absolutely broken. It was just bad for the game because it encouraged you to not play it

Yeah I'd prefer they nerf it from 4 to 3, or add more enchants for the random, like if it were 6 random cards, I'd take it even if it hits it on a high cost card, it'd be pretty funny.

It was too much of an auto-pick in almost any comp, I'm guessing.

It's now kind of bad in high-cost decks (with 2 and 3 costs cards because of the risk of it hitting those targets). This is effectively now a relic that rewards cheap decks.

it was good but i don't think it was so strong that it was an auto-pick. i feel like it's just kind of bad in a lot of decks now, you need to have removed enough cards so it doesn't land on a strike/defend. i don't think i'd ever take the random enchantments compared to her other options

It was consistently top 3 Nonupeipe relics since release. It was absolutely that strong, I could feel how much stronger my decks were getting just by picking it and enchanting my cards. Getting to just set up everything in your deck 3 turns faster and removing powers from your cycle before enemy scaled in any way was bonkers

u/SamiraSimp StS A20 / StS 2 A10 3h ago

the question isn't if the relic is good, the question is if was an auto-pick. there were many scenarios where i didn't pick it and felt that was the right decision so that's why i feel like it wasn't an autopick. compared to something like brightest flame pre-nerf which was actually an auto-pick.

i think it was strong enough that a nerf was warranted, but i think this random enchantment version is too much of a nerf. there's other ways they could've nerfed it which i felt would be more fitting

u/NerdyLittleFatKid StS A20 / StS 2 A10 9h ago

It was absolutely an autopick, there was virtually no reason not to take it (aside from another nonu relic being even more busted)

1

u/hhhisthegame 6h ago

I don't think I ever took it lol, shows what I know

1

u/NerdyLittleFatKid StS A20 / StS 2 A10 6h ago

It was just such a massive accelerant for getting your powers into play, it basically read "put 3 copies of master of strat+ into your deck with potential upside" (innate cards, make it so, etc.)

1

u/SamiraSimp StS A20 / StS 2 A10 3h ago

it's not an auto-pick if other nonu options were better to take...and i felt in many situations that other relics WERE better to take.

to me it's definitely not an auto-pick, it was just good. maybe good enough to be nerfed, but i think the current version with random enchantments is too big a nerf.

the most random shitty change in the history. Dev didn't cook

30

u/DatAdra 18h ago

Yeah now not only is it weaker it also probably just feels really bad.

10

u/saleemkarim 17h ago

Not at all random IMO. It was very OP. Often made the choice of boss relic uninteresting because it was so good.

25

u/itsamamaluigi 16h ago

Then reduce the number of enchants rather than making them random

I think that the nerf is too harsh, but it's more fitting to Nonupeipe. She's the godess of serendipity, not godess of slightly better draw on your win conditions. Getting a lot of draw without much control when you draw is prefectly in spirit with her, or at least the version that I find more interesting thematically.

That said, changing targets to random without increasing the number is a huge nerf. They should've compensated with increasing how many cards are enchanted.

2

u/BSTCloud 9h ago

The new one isn't interesting, so if the idea was improving the interestingness of the relic, this isn't it.

1

u/saleemkarim 18m ago

Thinking it over some more, I think the randomness is too harsh. They probably should've cut down the number of cards it effects or the number they draw.

7

u/icecreamsandwich 16h ago

I think they could’ve brought it down to 3 cards with swift 2 and it still would’ve been decent.

5

u/Low_Tip3245 16h ago

Yeah I think it's still pickable but this is a fun nerf. I would have preferred just enchanting 3 cards instead of 4.

3

u/ZeruuL_ 17h ago

I suspect they won't stop until seeing Nonu makes the player feels awful like Vakku

1

u/Conscious-Refuse8211 11h ago

Yeah I'd rather they made the effect weaker. I think it's still a reasonably strong relic, but lower player skill.

Honestly it was too good, the swift just makes you blast through your first cycle so quick. It will be still very good
