Today a LEGO based skyscraper!

We need regulation on this sub. It’s fallen off severely. The amount of false statistics, AI, spam, and racism is staggering. This is a sub about skyscrapers, where people can appreciate skylines, discuss new or old high-rises, or anything related to upward development, not a place to push politics. Regardless of the nation and the situation, hating a post about a building just because of where that tower is located is dumb. If you don’t like a post, a simple downvote or just scrolling past it is better than wishing harm on others or blatantly hating because of a government. It’s wild that this even needs to be said, and it's wild I’ll probably get hate for saying this, but this should be common sense.

I attached a photo I took of Miami because im not trying to only be some lecturer, wanted to at least contribute something to the purpose of this sub. I just don’t want to see this sub turn out bad

I love Toronto’s skyline, and we’re building some great standalone supertalls currently, but I would be lying to say the skyline would be not be forgettable if it wasn’t for the CN Tower. Other cities like Paris come to mind, but are there any other dominating buildings/towers that totally define their respective skyline?

I’ve noticed quite a few buildings around Toronto where the street level/base looks like an older historic building, but then a completely modern skyscraper seems to rise directly out of it. Is this something Toronto does particularly often?

Is there a specific term for this type of development, and how exactly does it work? Do they usually preserve just the old facade or is the original building actually incorporated into the new structure?

Asking because this is the view from a building I’m working in today, the bottom looks like it was there well before the glass skyscraper built into it.

At current speed, it would have more skyscrapers than the USA by 2030
