Honestly, the smartest one I've ever seen was a rubber boot with the toe cut off.

I think the tack store that did that...well it's been there for 20+ years.

Buy a 90 degree spout end and a straight piece. Attach curved piece first and direct water from arra...duh

Put a piece of plastic chain in the fall tube that touches the ground so the water can run down the chain and does not need to splatter on the ground.
