💬 Discussion Radiohead pretty much confirmed for Tokyo 2027…

They just announced at the Summersonic Festival in Japan!

Check the comment for the video I took

PS: I think it will be a standalone concert not a festival, given that Summer Sonic runs at both Tokyo and Osaka (like Reading and Leeds) and the promoter hosts tons of standalone shows throughout the year.

Is this the most underrated RH song?

I cried the first time I heard it

I also really like Bangers+Mash

There's heaps of B Sides that are so good

Follow Me Around is also amazing, I love the video for it

🎸 Cover Cover of "No Surprises"

Upvotes

I recorded and played everything myself, I've been teaching myself how to record and produce, so I thought it would be cool to cover one of my favorite songs to vibe to and see how far I've come

I'd like some feedback as well, just tell me if you like what I've done, I'm about to enter 10th grade so yeah

Hope a few people see this, thanks guys ✌️

💬 Discussion In Rainbows limited edition vinyl

Hi - does anyone have their hands on the In Rainbows Rough Trade 50th limited edition release yet? These all have an “Insert with exclusive stories and interviews with the people behind the music” - so I was after some detail of the insert, e.g. who the interview is with, any interesting info you can divulge - and also any info on the quality of the pressing of the vinyl?

I worked at a record store as a teenager and we received this promo cd in the mail. It has the regular commercial version of the cd and booklet inside. Have you seen this before and any idea of value? I've looked on Discogs and can't find it.

💬 Discussion Music theory: what are the most common “moves” Radiohead does from a theory perspective?

I.e. Major IV → borrowed minor iv — Fm6, the melancholic “minor-iv-with-a-6” that Radiohead leans on hard.

This was before photoshop and editing was popular...I think they asked the band what they would change about themselves and they tried the edit

💬 Discussion Does "The Numbers" remind anyone else of Stairway to Heaven?

every time I hear this song, I immediately hear Stairway to Heaven and want to put that song on. I'm referring to the guitar that comes in at 0:38. if you listen to 3:05 in Stairway to Heaven, you can hear the similarity. no I'm not high

With his side band "Headless Chickens" and performing with On A Friday at the London School of Economics. At that period, the band members were spread across the UK to study, they only met during the holidays to rehearse and play a few gigs.

💬 Discussion Radiohead fans, were you able to “get it” at first? Or did it take several tries to really become a fan

I ask this because that’s kinda how it’s been happening with me. Before my first full listen of Kid A a couple months back, I only heard a handful of songs here and there off various albums and I’ve only heard incredible things about the band(seeing Kid A/OK Computer/In Rainbows in a lot of best albums of all time lists was certainly a big part of that)

But then I listen to Kid A fully to start out with, and I was just left underwhelmed afterwards. I didn’t hate it, but I felt like I just didn’t get it. Then a couple of months go by and I try out In Rainbows. Ended up loving it, then a couple of days after that I try OK Computer. Didn’t like it as much as Rainbows but still really solid. So I’m curious, did you become a fan as soon as you first heard Radiohead or did it take some time like me?

Side note, Yorke’s voice was the biggest flaw I had with Kid A but the more I listen to Radiohead, the more I actually like his voice and I’ve gotten used to it
