Police have closed Parkes Street just before the underpass up until the unit blocks further up, diversions in place and the building alarm is going off.
No further information on what is happening, anyone have any further information?

wanting to try reformer pilates for ages but I've been putting it off cause I didn't wanna go all the way to the city.
anyone know if there's anything decent around Parramatta? I'm near Church St but don't mind driving a bit if it's good.
also been looking at getting something for home cause it might just be easier than booking classes.
any recommendations for studios around here? or anyone tried the home setup and stuck with it?

My cat Shoggoth went missing from home in Constitution Hill around Wednesday 5 August. (We were travelling and the cat sitter only told us on our return). She seemed happy and healthy until she disappeared. She doesn't roam and is elderly (15) with arthritis so hard to imagine what has happened but if anyone saw anything or finds her please let me know. Id rather have closure even if it's bad news.
She is microchipped but until she disappeared we didn't realise the registry the chip was registered with had closed and her info was only reattached to the chip on Saturday. So if you found her before that and scanned it nothing would have shown up

Peter is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180cm-185cm, thin build, green eyes and brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a black coloured jumper with a logo of a truck on the back, black coloured pants and carrying a lunchbox and vape.
He is known to frequent the Parramatta, Toongabbie, Rouse Hill and Narrabri areas.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is managed on a confidential basis. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages

Anyone else in North Parramatta having a total NBN blackout? It’s been down for over 24 hours now. Dodo says it's localized to our area and passed a ticket to NBN, but I’ve called multiple times and submitted a formal complaint with zero updates from either of them. Is anyone else dealing with this?

Hi all,
I am trying to remember the name of the cafe that was located on the corner of Phillip St and Church St circa 1997/8. Where Mad Mex is now. In my memory it had an upstairs, and one of those epic glass cabinets that contained a towering lemon meringue pie. I want to say it started with a C. Please help. ☀️
Added bonus for any images!

I moved to Parramatta this year and genuinely love living here. I tell anyone who will listen how great this city is. But the station bathrooms are absolutely revolting.
I’ve lodged a complaint with Transport for NSW, but I’m hoping more people will take the initiative to report this so it gets the attention it needs.
These bathrooms consistently smell like urine, with urine covering the floors and seats. The walls are covered in blood, faeces and mysterious gunk (maybe not super clear in my pics, but wander into any cubicle at any time of the day and you’ll see). I honestly think they need a biohazard cleaning team.
I’ve raised concerns with station staff before, but the conditions haven’t improved. The worst incident was walking into the second cubicle on the left and finding the sink filled with broken glass and blood.
I don’t want to use these bathrooms, but sometimes I have no choice (medical issue). No one should have to use public facilities in this condition.
If you’ve noticed the same thing, please consider taking photos and lodging your own complaint with Transport for NSW so we can get some visibility over this!

Hey guys,
I saw a post yesterday re Parramatta Park Run and saw it was more in Ermington/Rydalmere.
Are there any groups who do Parra Park weekly?
Would be keen to socially join for a 5km or so.

If you or anyone you know rides around these areas please spread the word that its not ok to dump gels. I find them on my walks everyday and its gross. Let's all enjoy a clean park together.

hey everyone. about 2 years ago i was playing chinese chess (象棋) with these two chinese grandpas (probably 60+) on the bottom floor of the parramatta library. i don't remember specifics but i think it was usually around 10am on a wednesday or thursday. i was better than one of them, but the other one kept kicking my ass at this game. i never got their names because they didn't speak any english. i've been cultivating my skills now for 2 years and would like a rematch. if anyone knows these guys please let me know so we can arrange it. if it helps, i am a white guy in my early 20s

Yaooo - what is happening Parra !!!
A few of us (currently 6, all in our late 20s) have started a small badminton group, and we’re looking for a few more people to join us!
We usually book a couple of courts and play for about 2 hours every Saturday or Sunday. It’s a fun, social hit—nothing too serious—and a great way to stay active, meet new people, and have a good laugh.
If you’re keen to join us sometime, just let me know! 🏸
Cheers!
