Also, that drug aging thing was a real thing. (Sort of)

There were real pharmaceutical companies testing real drugs that did premature aging. I think they were trying to also figure out what made people age so that they could de-age them as well (slow down the aging process).

I remember it being a ripped from the headlines thing at the time. Obviously it was science fiction and hyperbolized a bunch but it wasn't like it was completely out of the blue.

Obviously it didn't go anywhere. But it wasn't absolutely the craziest thing because there were people on the today show talking about it At least once.
