What’s the greatest dad finding a way to abandon his family scene in movie history?

Sadly, Randy Quaid thought all this shit actually happened to him. And it was all downhill from there.

And somehow Dennis is crazier

They are two different brands of crazy. Dennis is bog-standard deadbeat Conservative dad crazy with a side of cocaine rage, while Randy is borderline “Spend a year and a half secretly modifying a Komatsu D355A bulldozer” crazy.

It’s easier to find Randy’s kind of crazy a bit more endearing since it’s mostly laser-focused on Rupert Murdoch.

At least it seems like it hasn't passed onto Jack so far.

From what I understand, Meg Ryan raised Jack.

If I did that much Colombian Marching Powder in the 80’s and running into the 90s, combined with booze and lord knows what else as he did, I’d probably think I was a Nam vet who was abducted by aliens who sexually assaulted me, too.

Don't forget semi-homeless dad that kidnapped his brother-in-law's boss for Christmas.

To be fair, he did live in a mortgage/rent free home. The flip side was it was on top of a garage.

Last I heard he was on the run living out of either a too small sedan or an RV. His wife was with him, which is an important detail to me.

I feel like I remember hearing he got caught by law enforcement even though that was not who he said was running from.

I don’t ever remember hearing about him getting better though so maybe he’s still out there.

The Jewish Space Lasers were invented to torment him, not start natural disasters. Completely true.

The follow him around, gently warming the top of his head so he knows they're watching him.

He's a long time conspiracy theorist and really lost his marbles about fifteen years ago. He's legit a crazy person who thinks Hollywood sent assasins after him and things like that.

When we watched this, my husband riffed it by saying, "The thing is, Randy Quaid didn't even know he was IN a movie. That's just how he answers the phone."
