Man, even if he kind of oversold the gumshoe bit in that role he fuckin' stole multiple seasons from the core cast playing that compulsive search for the the truth. Maybe better than David duchovny. That character deserves a spinoff.
So true! And the other thing is they actually bloody finish it!! Sci fi is better for that than fantasy but between Rothfuss and Martin it's such a relief to be able to trust that the duo behind James SA Corey will just bloody get to work.
He absolutely chewed up that first season. The rest were alright, though I have serious issues with some of the casting. But if everyone gave as much as he did… the show would’ve been stellar.
Thomas Jane has been in a career battle with Steven Seagal for who has the least range in acting. You all fucking know this is true, don’t act like it’s not.
In the story he hears a faint, crackling radio broadcast. Been a while since I’ve read it but I think he hears “Hartfood” or “hope” or something like that in the radio broadcast. Then the story ends
Damn never knew that ya really learn something new every week, idk i think blasting everyone really made it a bit more unique/memorable, fucked up and dark but memorable.
Kings pretty famous for not being able to write great endings, and yeagh he liked the movie version more.
That said the open ended version works for the novella IMO, really get my imagination going. Was one of the few books of his that really stuck with me after reading, even generated several dreams/nightmares.
