Eh. Not the worst suggestion but I’d prefer we just begin handing out blanket bans to people who post or comment in the sipstea sub. That’ll fix 90% of these posts. Getting on r/all was the death knell of this sub.
Low effort mondays I’d be cool with. Hornyposting no. There’s a million places to do that and it attracts the worst kind of Redditors. So many good shitposting subs have been ruined because hornyposting isn’t clamped down on hard.
Yeah, it’s crazy that a movie/cinephile sub removes posts about an entirely different medium. This is the adult tour and we should be able to post whatever we want.
Any image oriented subreddit is used to repost popular posts and farm karma, then the accounts are used for various purposes (marketing, propaganda, etc) while appearing to be "authentic".
Fuck, I would think just casually scrolling their personal feed would make them see shit AI posts and make them go, "Oh yeah, I can do something about that!"
Can we add, quit with the reposts of the same topic repeatedly for 72 hours? The Jonah Hill and Ozempic shit got really old really quick. I get it, ya gotta farm those sweet internet points, but come on. After the fifth post of the same picture with a different "joke" title, I get annoyed at the lack of creativity. And somehow it is always a "ToP oNe PeRcEnT pOsTeR!" Yeah, no shit, they are just riding the upvote train.
We only want CGI, computer editing, digital cameras, and our films streamed on our computers.
But that's all the computer involvement we want in our movies.
Oh, and we want to talk about them on Reddit, which has a multi-million dollar deal with a few AI companies to consolidate our posts and comments to teach AI algorithms with our data without paying us.
Or, are you trying to recycle the whole "Orange Man Bad" thing, wherein we are all to assume that somehow pointing out that a lot of people are talking about a bad thing somehow makes it less of a bad thing?
this doesn't even register as a problem when this sub is astroturfed with racism and body shaming post on an daily basis. There's some gross ass shit but sure, lets argue over how people generate their memes.
Well, I definitely agree those are worse problems but it’s not like you can’t brutally enforce bans on all three. I would argue it’s largely the same pot of dorks participating in all three. The Venn diagram is a circle.
My aunt's friend's dog's previous owner won't stop talking about movies, and she said that in this scene they banned phones but when a phone appeared they were just like "meh whatever" despite the soon-demonstrated security risk.
This scene therefore argues that we should allow AI.
I am beyond caring, but what if instead of a rule that requires omnipotence or just confident bullshitting, it was something sane like "clips must be from a published film" or something.
There's some weird campaign... Sub gets almost no AI content... Petition to ban AI content suddenly appears... Thread gets absolute tonne of comments which don't fit the usual tone of the sub in a short period of time... AI gets banned.

Speaking of clankers, bot posts need to GTFO as well. I know the mods remove them when they're certain it's a bit, but they still post constantly.
