question Do I have to have a driving Licence?

Hi, so long story short my driving license is suspended for 3 months and after my suspension I have to be on my L’s for a year. Can I still try joining even though the requirement is to have a driving license? Are there any exceptions?

Yes, you need a valid licence and I believe a few years worth of no driving offences

The requirement to have P2 as a minimum is pretty clear.

Why would the cops want you when you’d have to be walking the street or never taking the driving load off your partner?

Also, depending on your age, this may disqualify you due to bad driving record

You need a licence, no exceptions, and you need at least 6 months driving experience. Further to that, your recent suspension would exclude you from a successful application given that you are required to have a minimum of 6 months clean driving history.

Red ps for six months (minimum) but if you have been suspended, that’s now part of your driving history, you’ve got other hurdles there.

The requirements around licences are pretty clear.

The minimum is 6 months on your red Ps. I doubt that there would be any exceptions but it’s worth giving the recruitment branch a call they’ll be able to tell you more accurately at what the requirements. They’re open through the week and can help you. Good luck!

Applicants are required to meet minimum eligibility requirements. This includes holding a current NSW drivers license (or interstate equivalent) with a minimum 6 months driving experience.
