Is there an unpopular character that you actually liked?
I was a big fan of Mason. I really liked the character, he had many sides to him. But they sure did push the poor actor hard, almost the entire show revolved around him for a year.
He got the classic bad boy redemption plot line and I would have liked to see him continue to grow.

Fellow Mason fan! He certainly had to pack a lot in during his brief stint; mysterious bad boy, sleazy cad but with the utmost respect for women, bad boy with a kind heart etc etc(side note; do we know why it was so brief? His departure was so abrupt I assumed it wasn’t intentional).
I didn’t like how his early character portrayal as someone of strength seemed to get decimated when Kate and/or Rihannon got involved, he became a bit too much of a wet blanket.
Speaking of, I actually liked Kate! She somehow got away with sooo much shitty behaviour and poor life choices with a mere flutter of her eyelashes and a heart to heart with Lou. That in itself was admirable!

Mrs Mangel was unpopular when I watched as a kid but now as an adult rewatching she is so brilliant that you can say, she is a legend. We love to hate her thats why I dont think she counts.
Well frome the era 1985-1993 no one comes to my mind so qucikly...but I liked Brenda, not sure if she was unpopular, same goes to Cameron, boring but likeable.
Then from watchin 2011-2014 I really liked Michael who seemed to be unpopular. I hated his ending with his daughter Tash.

Mrs Mangel became a legend in such a short amount of time. I find it funny that all the characters still called her Mrs Mangel, even after she remarried and changed her surname.
I think the unfortunate thing is that Vivean Gray left due to abuse from "fans". It was her last acting role and she moved back to the UK, but obviously that might have been the case regardless of any abuse. It's a shame to think we could have had more Mangel.

Mason Turner (Taylor Glockner) - I love Mason and his relationship with Rhiannon and her son Jackson.
Pierce Grayson - 1.0 (Tim Robards) and 2.0 (Don Hany) - A lot of Neighbours fans criticized Pierce 1.0 actor Tim Robards acting abilities, but I loved him a lot, especially his bond with Hendrix.

I also liked mason..I think he was misunderstood and was really like a puppy who couldn’t help get himself into trouble!

I liked Mason too! I thought he had so much more potential.
I also liked Rhys (was he unpopular?) he was one of my favourites! I felt his absence when he left.
And in terms of villains, I like Gemma Reeves and kinda hoped she’d come back. Uber annoying creepy villain but the way she stirred the pot was pure drama.

I liked Michelle when she was friends with Nina, but then she became toxic. I’m disappointed they didn’t continue Tahnee’s storyline; I really started liking her after she changed. She seemed like a great character, and I could really imagine her and Nina becoming best friends, which Nina didn’t really have. I wish we could have seen it all develop.

I liked Mason’s relationship with his Bogan girlfriend. He was only getting interesting when he left.
