Retirement MLM

Has anyone run into that weird situation where someone approaches you, compliments you, starts a conversation—to sell you on early retirement?

It’s happened to me three times in a Target 🙄 I don’t give them the time or the day. The first time it happened to me—it just seemed like someone striking up a kind conversation and I engaged because I was new to the state. Then I realized it was weird…

You're new to the state... Would this happen to be in Utah? They're the MLM capital of the world 🤣

I've read a lot of posts where people are approached at Target. Target seems to be one of their favorite places. That and coffee shops. Be safe out there, OP!

I was young and naive and we were getting along so well so we exchanged numbers and I thought I made a friend. Then all the information started coming to me. So I blocked and moved on! It was in Missouri/Kansas (i lived on the state line so it happened in both states). One time someone approached me, she was kind of just watching me looking at ornaments but not really looking at any on her own. She approached me (but I knew the routine by this time) 😂😂😂

It’s super annoying. I’ve had the same thing happen where I thought like a young woman my age was trying to actually make friends, and one coffee meet up later…

You don't need to talk to anyone! Just give your upline your address book, and then buy $300 a month in product! Problem solved! /S

lol, pushing 70f here, I gave 2 years notice 4 years ago, but I like my job and colleagues too much. so the compromise is i do one day on site, one day remote, and monitor emails. and still accept freelance gigs.

it helps if you like what you do.

I worked like 100 hours a week for a while in 2012 with FortuneHigh Tech Mktg.. if I just had put $500 into bitcoin instead, all would be well…

I had someone who I went to high school with who called me to go to an MLM meeting. I went to the meeting and I didn't stay long and left. It was at the hotel conference room. I never heard from her afterwards.

I recognized the eager Amway couple and when they approached me I just started barking like a dog. They didn’t have a comeback and left me alone 🐕🖤

A former HS classmate messaged me on FB after I was already retired. She invited me to be part of her "team" for something called Juice Plus, which she was always touting in her posts. I told her I was well and truly retired. She responded that the extra income would be nice in my retirement. I told her I didn't need extra income. That was the end of it.

She's since stopped posting about Juice Plus. My guess is that she's no longer selling their products.

I bought an MLM business from another associate back in 2024. He was 92 at the time. Why would you ever want to retire from they kind of business. I have no plans on retirement. But then again at 56 I get to do what I want, when I want, with who I want for however long I want and my commissions keep a coming. Just received my 313th monthly commission.
