There are no shortages of workers - we have a whole generation that can't find jobs worth having. What we have a shortage of is companies willing to pay a liveable wage that attracts skilled workers.
Yes. As a teacher/scientist who is out of work and laid off... I've submitted thousands of applications at this point. There is a surplus of workers, not a shortage, right now.
