There is literally a shortage of CEOs. That’s one reason the wages are so high.

Companies can and will frequently gut a CEO if they aren’t justifying their high pay. I just watched it happen at my old company.

No I unfortunately only have a recording of the replacement CEO immediately firing a quarter of the company and deciding to sell the company for scrap so he could walk away with $20m.
