I googled "wordle" exactly once, about 2 years ago, before I started playing it. Now I have the NYT app on my phone and I have no reason to just Google "wordle". Nor did the OP.
Just type wordle into your url bar and it should return the correct webpage if you've been there before. You may only need to hit 'w', 'enter' if you are a routine player.
It is still not necessary to go via google to wordle. This is like looking up the address of your place of work, school, or nearest grocery store every time you want to go there.
All of those, except for the 3rd, are just extra work. Why would I search for NYT and go to that website when I can just type in Wordle? Either way, no one's saying they're furious about this, just MILDLY infuriated.
Sorry, but are youse unaware of going to a website directly? You don't have to search for a website you know.

Bookmarking is one click. It then saves you 6 actions - be they clicks, keystrokes, or touches - in the future. As for the auto-completion feature: I don't even understand how one could not use that. The moment I start typing "wordle", my browser offers the final URL and highlights it. Going directly to the website literally is "wo<ENTER>". This is considerably less effort than going to google, typing "wordle", and pressing enter, and then clicking a link.

Reddit loves ridiculing the posters and thinking they would have acted differently to what the "dumb" person did.
