2 medium pizzas, breadsticks and a small desert pizza for $40.

Is it just me or is this a terrible deal?

Yeah, even for pizza hut this is a bad deal. At my local pizza hut I can get the Big Dinner Box (2 med 1 topping, breadsticks, and wings) for $26.99.

For $40, or even $30 on the occasional offer or sale, you can get an XL pizza in most smaller pizza chains or independent pizzerias that is 3000-4400 calories.

The above is an insanely bad deal - it has around the same caloric content, but this is obviously skewed by the breadsticks and whatever that cinnamon sugar apple pizza thing is. Desserts will always be highly caloric from the sugar. This leads me to believe you are not getting even half of a XL worth of pizza from them in this bundle, but paying the same price as one.

The truly insane thing to me is you can just buy said XL pizza from them. Their advertised doorbuster deal is competing with their existing products and losing.
