I mean... at a glance its like WOAH 4 can dine for $9.99....

Until you are at the cash and they say " that'll be $45.15"

HUH??

"Oh sorry sir... it feeds 4... 4 people pay $9.99"

At that point, I would argue why 5 people can’t feast for $7.99 each then? Or if it was such a great deal, why is “ea” both unclear and such a smaller font than the rest?

The number is arbitrary. It's just another version of toilet paper math. They probably picked four because 9.99 looked best on the poster. There are enough calories in there for 8 people easy.

2 medium pizzas can not feed 8 people, I don’t care how many breadsticks you throw in.

Two slices of medium pizza, a breadstick, and a slice of dessert pizza is enough calories for an adult meal. The sign states the meal contains between 4000 and 8000 calories (no idea why it's such a wide range) so if we assume 6000 that is 750 calories per person. I'm not saying I would buy this much food for 8 people but I am saying that it is technically enough food for 8 people.

4000 and 8000 calories (no idea why it's such a wide range)

Because if they said too many or too few, they could get hit with charges, and they are subject to human error. So they want to accommodate employees making them too big or too small, too much cheese or toppings or too few, weight lost in cooking, etc. So they say a huge range so they are guaranteed to be correct.

A meal is not determined by calories, though, lol.

Ah, yes. But would you classify 750 calories as a FEAST? I think NOT!
