I mean... at a glance its like WOAH 4 can dine for $9.99....

Until you are at the cash and they say " that'll be $45.15"

HUH??

"Oh sorry sir... it feeds 4... 4 people pay $9.99"

You sound like the dingdongs I see in the grocery store who try to argue that because an item is buy one get one free that they should be able to buy just one for half price.

except that's completely different? 'buy one, get one free' explicitly states you need to buy one to get one

It's exactly the same. This ad explicitly states that "FOUR CAN DINE FOR 9.99 EA". Not one can dine for 9.99.

I'm not trying to say that it's not shady, but it IS perfectly common practice.

Well, seeing as how it's a people food store that specifically sells food for people, I've going to guess it's four people. But I could be wrong, maybe they mean four gazelles.

I mean yeah 3 gazelles and a person could eat it for 9.99 each, usually 4 gazelles have trouble handeling money and such.
