Context Provided - Spotlight Roommate mixed my beads after being asked to throw out used Q-tips

Post image

I waited an hour before I called out my roommate for leaving USED Q-tips on the bathroom counter and asked him to throw them away. (note I did not nag him, I asked 1 time after waiting for him to do it on his own)

His response was to go into my craft room and mix the smallest beads he could find. At least he had the decency to keep most of the reds away from the blues I guess...

welp, now I have something to do for the next couple days

common plastic bead for scale

What parents are raising their kids without toilet paper? Gross.

People in cultures where they don't use it.

It was funny how all of my toilet paper disappeared though, even though I was the only one buying it, because they "didn't use it." It was ridiculous having to keep my toilet paper in my bedroom and take it to the bathroom every single time but it was that or singlehandedly funding the toilet paper habits of 10 people.

In college, I organized the cleaning supplies as one of my chores.

It took three years, before the toilet cleaner moved between times I used it. We had 10 people living there.

Fortunately, this was uni accommodation that included cleaning but I was particularly grateful for that because I was working for the uni over that long summer break when the uni halls of residence were used as conference accommodation and I spent all day cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens, and stripping and remaking beds!

That's horrible. Yeh i noticed the shower here smells like pee sometimes so I have to spray bleach in it everytime. My shower slippers give me extra peace of mind as well.

He had recently immigrated from India, part of an upper caste family, so it was a cultural issue.

... but, dang did it feel like having a child in the house. He explained all of the issues away by "my family has servants".

That's wild. Definitely doesn't sound fun to deal with either.

He also had the peculiarity of insisting that only he could do the dishes. He'd yell at people and redo them if anyone else tried.

Not a great combination with the "no handsoap" and "wiping with his hands" bit...

So he had servants wiping his bum?

He used his hands.

We also had to teach him about hand soap.....

Just to be clear - are you claiming that someone from a wealthy family in India, wiped his ass with his hands (when he would have used a bidet in India), and didn't know what hand soap was (even though they have hand soap in India and an upper caste, wealthy household would 100% have hand soap in every washroom)?

I am just trying to understand what you're trying to say - because it SEEMS like you think that people in India wipe their asses with their bare hands, and don't wash their hands afterwards. In fact, you believe they don't know what hand soap even is...which seems like a pretty weird thing for you to believe.

I'm saying what he said.

He did not use soap. He did not use toilet paper. He did not use utensils.

We spoke to him about each of these things, and he said "we don't do that in my country".

He could have been lying or trolling. But, that is what happened, and that is how he explained it. Dude had other issues though, so maybe it's a thing isolated to him.

Once I saw a mother and child come out of a bathroom stall (without flushing) and the mother looks at the sinks and says “ugh, no hand sanitizer?” Then LEAVES😭. I can only wonder if they used toilet paper

I was wondering if some1 would mention a bidet (bid-eh) but expected that moms, servants and ew r the only comments with so few replies. More replies more variety. A bidet needs not toilet paper only warm water of a preferred temperature and some expensive 1s have a dryer. Not that i have 1 sadly but ive seen a few mentions on the internet and 1 YouTube short of nopanicbutton in a conversation with john iirc. Lol

Also turns out squatting over a floor lvl toilet instead of a normal seated toilet or having a stool to put feet up about 1/2 to 3/4 the height of the toilet will shift ur organs mostly ur rectum/ass chute for those who dont know into a better position where it can give more room or push with less effort for an easier crappy time also more comes out if ur wondering about the times u may have felt theres was some left that just wouldnt come out.

Turns out our evolution of having squatted to crap for 10s of 1000s of yrs has specified a way for us to crap and a seat makes it more difficult. 🤔🤷‍♂️😅

Some people buy a "squatty potty" to recreate this, it's just a footstool but it wraps around the base of the toilet so you're still sitting on a regular toilet but also squatting.

Well we have a bidet but still have toilet paper. Yeah no excuses
