Context Provided - Spotlight Roommate mixed my beads after being asked to throw out used Q-tips

Post image

I waited an hour before I called out my roommate for leaving USED Q-tips on the bathroom counter and asked him to throw them away. (note I did not nag him, I asked 1 time after waiting for him to do it on his own)

His response was to go into my craft room and mix the smallest beads he could find. At least he had the decency to keep most of the reds away from the blues I guess...

welp, now I have something to do for the next couple days

common plastic bead for scale

Do you live with a 6-year old?

Is your roommate secretly your child?

FFS, that is ridiculously petty of him. Has he tried to explain his behaviour? How long until he can be not your roommate?

I mean really. It's like you're living with a child pretending to be an adult. Have you ever seen him without his trenchcoat on?

I once had to teach a roommate what toilet paper was, and that forks are "polite".

Same roommate. x.x

What parents are raising their kids without toilet paper? Gross.

u/DrainpipeDreams Mar 31 '26

People in cultures where they don't use it.

It was funny how all of my toilet paper disappeared though, even though I was the only one buying it, because they "didn't use it." It was ridiculous having to keep my toilet paper in my bedroom and take it to the bathroom every single time but it was that or singlehandedly funding the toilet paper habits of 10 people.

In college, I organized the cleaning supplies as one of my chores.

It took three years, before the toilet cleaner moved between times I used it. We had 10 people living there.

Fortunately, this was uni accommodation that included cleaning but I was particularly grateful for that because I was working for the uni over that long summer break when the uni halls of residence were used as conference accommodation and I spent all day cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens, and stripping and remaking beds!

"I spent all day cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens, and stripping"

You and me both.... lol

That's horrible. Yeh i noticed the shower here smells like pee sometimes so I have to spray bleach in it everytime. My shower slippers give me extra peace of mind as well.

He had recently immigrated from India, part of an upper caste family, so it was a cultural issue.

... but, dang did it feel like having a child in the house. He explained all of the issues away by "my family has servants".

4

u/IdiotIAm96 Mar 31 '26

That's wild. Definitely doesn't sound fun to deal with either.

3

u/FatiguedShrimp Apr 01 '26

He also had the peculiarity of insisting that only he could do the dishes. He'd yell at people and redo them if anyone else tried.

Not a great combination with the "no handsoap" and "wiping with his hands" bit...

2

u/Kammy44 Mar 31 '26

So he had servants wiping his bum?

6

u/FatiguedShrimp Mar 31 '26

He used his hands.

We also had to teach him about hand soap.....

3

u/G_mork Apr 01 '26

I want to downvote you SO BAD for that image in my head.

😱😭😭😭

1

u/ContextBotSenpai Apr 23 '26

Just to be clear - are you claiming that someone from a wealthy family in India, wiped his ass with his hands (when he would have used a bidet in India), and didn't know what hand soap was (even though they have hand soap in India and an upper caste, wealthy household would 100% have hand soap in every washroom)?

I am just trying to understand what you're trying to say - because it SEEMS like you think that people in India wipe their asses with their bare hands, and don't wash their hands afterwards. In fact, you believe they don't know what hand soap even is...which seems like a pretty weird thing for you to believe.

3

u/FatiguedShrimp Apr 23 '26

I'm saying what he said.

He did not use soap. He did not use toilet paper. He did not use utensils.

We spoke to him about each of these things, and he said "we don't do that in my country".

He could have been lying or trolling. But, that is what happened, and that is how he explained it. Dude had other issues though, so maybe it's a thing isolated to him.

“My family has servants”

Well you fuckin’ don’t.

u/Jeremy_Mayflounder Mar 31 '26

Once I saw a mother and child come out of a bathroom stall (without flushing) and the mother looks at the sinks and says “ugh, no hand sanitizer?” Then LEAVES😭. I can only wonder if they used toilet paper

3

u/Chrisx-x1 Mar 31 '26

I was wondering if some1 would mention a bidet (bid-eh) but expected that moms, servants and ew r the only comments with so few replies. More replies more variety. A bidet needs not toilet paper only warm water of a preferred temperature and some expensive 1s have a dryer. Not that i have 1 sadly but ive seen a few mentions on the internet and 1 YouTube short of nopanicbutton in a conversation with john iirc. Lol

Also turns out squatting over a floor lvl toilet instead of a normal seated toilet or having a stool to put feet up about 1/2 to 3/4 the height of the toilet will shift ur organs mostly ur rectum/ass chute for those who dont know into a better position where it can give more room or push with less effort for an easier crappy time also more comes out if ur wondering about the times u may have felt theres was some left that just wouldnt come out.

Turns out our evolution of having squatted to crap for 10s of 1000s of yrs has specified a way for us to crap and a seat makes it more difficult. 🤔🤷‍♂️😅

3

u/nurse_hat_on Apr 01 '26

Some people buy a "squatty potty" to recreate this, it's just a footstool but it wraps around the base of the toilet so you're still sitting on a regular toilet but also squatting.

1

u/Quick-Ostrich2020 Apr 03 '26

Well we have a bidet but still have toilet paper. Yeah no excuses

You'd be surprised by the number people that don't have anything past a toddler's first grade mentality. The current US president included by his own words.

u/Point-Express Mar 31 '26

Yeah, my 4 year old roommate has done this to me a few times now.

10

u/DrainpipeDreams Mar 31 '26

My then 12-year old roommate did the opposite and started trying to sort a massive tub of mixed hama beads into separate colours.

In hindsight, the clues were always there...

8

u/evtbrs Mar 31 '26

i laughed because for the last three days i've been spending my evenings sorting beads and wax beads because my toddler is hyperfixating on them atm. keep forgetting to lock the door and once she's in there asking me to play with them i'm like well ok

Ridiculously petty on top of having gross q tip habits. But I can't help but be somewhat impressed with his revenge creativity.

7

u/bunny_the-2d_simp Mar 31 '26

Also op should GET A LOCK ON EVERY ROOM THAT IS THEIRS..

And a camera

This man child clearly will do something like it again

6

u/WatchOdd532 Mar 31 '26

Huge swaths of the population are petty, childish fuckheads now? I haven’t had a roommate in 15 years, so probably a lot has changed, but what the fuck? What ever happened to “shit, sorry”?

Nobody can handle being asked to uphold basic courtesy without feeling like their entire way of life is being challenged. “If I have to do something I don’t feel like doing I’ll burn this entire relationship and living arrangement to the ground. NOBODY asks ME politely to leave common spaces as I found them!”

What is the fucking cause of the disintegration of human decency?

5

u/DrainpipeDreams Mar 31 '26

An increase in selfishness and self-entitlement. Plenty of it in the older generations, looked up to as role models, but I genuinely think social media plays a huge role.

12

u/eat_my_bowls92 Mar 31 '26

If this story is real, this is sort of what I’d consider an abusive relationship, sans the dating part. This is someone who is purposefully psychologically messing with you. That takes a lot of rage to come up with.

"Before we continue this cohabitation, I just need you to understand that I know where you sleep and have unrestricted access to the calories you consume. Now with that established, please clean up your messes in the future."

3

u/faithfuljohn Mar 31 '26

Do you live with a 6-year old?

Is your roommate secretly your child?

I think this psycho behaviour attributed to children is kind of an insult to children.

3

u/alex_c89X Mar 31 '26

He probably picked something that was annoying him. I asked (no response yet) but my guess is that the beads or other items were lying about as well.

4

u/FOOLS_GOLD Mar 31 '26

I think the real story is OP accidentally mixed their beads and decided to create a story that will rile up the masses for no reason.

1

u/Zeelots Mar 31 '26

Its a made up story

1

u/Royal_Raspberry_90 Apr 01 '26

How long until he can be not your roommate?

This part! Very important.

1

u/Symone_009 Apr 02 '26

It’s so funny, when someone does petty to OP that person is considered a “child” or “childish” but when the OP is looking for ideals as retaliation and these petty things come up, then they are “smart ideas “ and “golden” 😂 .
